Tough one to take, thought for the vast majority we deserved a result. Can't really say too much about 'the quality off their bench' other than Tripper's late movement was good, but everything else about their goal was lucky. A deflection, into Doyle, a scuffed shot to Jimenez. All in the blink of an eye. Just think we got undone by one.

that's football in a nutshell.

play awful & outplayed by cardiff, Bolton, Norwich & blackburn. take 7pts from 4 games

for the 1st time this season. i thought we were great & we lose in the last min
In the long run , our points will reflect our performances.

Thought we looked what we are,a bottom 8 side.
We never looked like controlling the game and they were bang average and were there for the taking..Could have been 2 down in the first 20 minutes, dodged a penalty decision, and when we decided to go for it,the gaps actually opened up for them,so we tried to shut it down again about 15 minutes later.

I hate to be celebration police, but the fact Wolves celebrated like they've secured promotion says a lot. We gave them a tough match, an improved performance and hopefully something we can build on.

In fairness, it's a last minute winner and they probably don't realise how bad we are. We still have a reputation of being a strong team in this league even if it's currently not true.

Far, far better than the rest of the season - have you actually watched us?
I agree it was better, but for me the sub decisions let us down. Why take Phillips off and not Arblaster, who literally did nothing all game? Why not bring on Donovan and maintain the pressure we were putting them under instead of Rothwell? It felt like we we threw away a deserved point by easing off Wolves and inviting pressure into us for the last 15 minutes.

Their quality was always likely to shine as they pretty much beat us in every position except for between the sticks. I doubt any of their would swap any of our starting line up for theirs but for Cooper, while we'd snap their hands off for some of their players. We did well to give them a game but it felt to me like the sub decisions cost us a deserved point. I'd rather see us lose trying to win then watch us trying to see out games and losing.

I know we lost… and I’m gutted! Especially what with the manner of the goal and it being the 90th minute!! But… that was 1000x better than it has been. Something to build one there definitely we looked a lot more structured, we just need to work on the final 3rd more!

Not a massive criticism per se but I have to mention Ayew. Thought he looked decent for 5mins but then offered absolutely nothing. It was strange to go with Ayew and not Donovan.

He ran out of steam unfortunately

Thought it was the best we have played. Controlled passing, and defending from halfway line in the first half. We just went into ourselves last 10 minutes and defended from 25 yards. Always ends in giving way a goal. Not much created, but liked the Arblaster, Peck Philips midfield. Final third we were poor, as always. Oh how I wish for a Dean and Agana again. Wolves have a team of stars and will click into gear soon. .

Looked cohesive for large parts of the game. Pace in the final third would have seen us make more chances. Not disheartened at all by that, I thought we'd get hammered today TBH. I actually feel that if we can put those pieces together v's the majority of the league, we'll be top half at a cantor.

Should have had Phillips finishing the game, and started Doherty, with Choudhury CM then replacing Doherty at RWB
Phillips did well though? Who knows if he was sub again. Plenty were asking for him to start however playing him 90 seems a risk right now. If he gets through the next week I suspect we will see him play longer

Initial thoughts we didn’t get the rub of the green at all.

Little decisions like the foul on McCallum that went their way. Their centre half should have received a second yellow on 60 minutes for pulling back Peck. That could have swing a marginal game.

The goal I’d like to see again because at the exact moment Doyle strikes the ball, I thought Jimenez was in an offside position.

Before folks go in on the subs we have to remember some of these are coming back from injury. All well and good saying why did he take Phillips off? Isn’t it obvious? Because we don’t want him missing for three months. Same comment goes for Arblaster. Doherty was being called from all sides to give Choudhury a rest. McCallum taking a knock needed Rhys. Only questionable one was perhaps Ayew and Cannon where perhaps Donovan could have added some pace. But then again both Ayew across goal and Cannon, on a couple of occasions had half chances to score.

Play like that against lesser teams and we can have no complaints.

Now correct me if I’m wrong here. But didn’t our glorious leader insist we signed these slow aging players for their experience in not throwing away points at the death?
What could they have done about a series of chaotic mishits and deflections? Trippier's movement gave them a chance, but they fluked their goal.
