For me there was only one clear difference between the teams today . . . . although the difference amounts to winning or losing - so quite a significant difference. Out of possession neither team particularly pressed the opposition they sat patiently waiting for the other team to make a mistake. The difference being that Stuttgart rarely made a mistake whereas we, using a phrase i've used consistently over 40 years of watching the Blades, were the 'architects of our own downfall'.

In League 1 fans often complained that we didn't pressure teams enough, but there was no need, let them have the ball long enough and eventually they'll make a mistake and give us the ball back. Why waste energy chasing the ball when you know that the opposition aren't good enough and will eventually give you the ball back. Thats what Stuttgart did to us today.

Blades are going to have to be better 'taking care of the ball' this season. On a positive note the number of forward passes at every opportunity was clearly evident today rather than meaningless sideways possession for possessions sake, but then ironically it was these passes that lead us to giving away possession!!.

Seems like there’s lots of bed-wetting going on. Personally I’d rather we looked shit in pre-season and prevented our players from getting injured, especially given our history with the Shirecliff Sniper, but apparently we should be treating every pre-season nothing game like a cup final and our players putting their bodies on the line.
Honestly mate, today was worrying. We've lost Ndiaye, Doyle and Mcatee and replaced them with inferior players. Larouci would be a mile behind Lowe, who I don't rate, Slimani looks decent but had a poor game and Traore looks a mile off it. Osula had a better all round game but he isn't a goal scorer. Egan had an off day. Berge was head and shoulders but played way too deep. Wes is a nightmare with the ball at his feet and anybody that can break at speed will rip us apart. Not negativity, just reality I'm afraid.

Put wee Jimmy Cranky up against Usain Bolt and it will look like Bolt isn't trying, but we all know who will win.
What if it was a fight to the death and wee Jimmy Krankie had a semi-automatic rifle and 6 hand grenades, and Usain Bolt had a pea shooter and a bag of frozzen peys?

West Ham got battered 4-0 by Leverkusen so the current rationale dictates they’ll finish below us ! That’s something I suppose.

Yes I must agree with you. I hope we are all wrong but the signs so far are not good. The preparation has not gone well at all. Feel sorry for Hecky and co. We need them to work a miracle.

Your basing this on what? Watching him for Brum against us last season?
Watching him in 6 or 7 matches last season and official statistics from last seasons overall data - yeah, why?

What’s your problem?

No problem whatsoever, I just asked a question that’s all, I thought you thought he was playing today that’s all.

What set of snow flakes pre season means shit . It was played to just try systems .. Next week's a different day altogether . Be a host of changes trusty mcb jebbison Akpom.
Stop speaking bollocks, we played the same system and look clueless, this season is going to be very painful to watch for us.

We haven’t strengthened and are somehow weaker than last season, in fact comfortably weaker. No snow flakes about it, we look fucking crap but I’ll still be there. 🤷‍♂️

No it isn’t.

well today only made it clearer that if we dont bring at least 5 more good quality players in we will go down in a whimper at least 2 midfielders 2 strikers and a keeper to challenge wes are our minimum requirements just one other thing i agree with an earlier poster i think jack robinson could play lwb with trusty lcb i would say he would be better than both lowe and larrouci plus the advantage of his long throws set pieces are going to be very important to us this season
Too far outside the box for a rigid thinker like Hecky

Board or Prince have made hecky's job harder when they should be trying everything they can to give him best tools to make a start.

Appreciate monies tight but the lack of arrivals is frightening. And the attitude to happily wait till end of August to bring in fundamental signings that will likely start is negligent.

We aren't finished with our recruitment . That Ndiaye has caused us to be in need of a couple more but we will get over it .
We haven't got key players available but we will get it sorted.

Panic ye not
