Aye my bad re the four points from six. I don't think we'll start like a house on fire, it usually takes us about 20 minutes to get into the game, re the semis, I'd say that we've won over the two legs because we've executed an excellent and disciplined game plan. Obviously I'd love to be back I'm the premier league, however I won't be crying about it if we fail, we're a young young team, obviously players will leave, but the mantra within the club is to bring young players on and sell for profit. The only positives from the premier league are parachute payments when you're relegated. All I do is take one game at a time. That's it.
Sounds like it'll be two well-drilled sides in the final then as our gameplan down at Ashton Gate was nigh-on perfect and completely nullified Bristol City, exactly as we did with Coventry at the Lane when we beat them 3-1 at the end of March. A lot was made of our poor form at the end of the season but two of those three defeats were against sides at the bottom of the table who bring a completely different challenge.

Sunderland are absolutely fantastic, proper, powerful powerful and many other things. Wow, what a club. If we don't go up I'm glad it will be them who do 🎩

But if we perform we should win

We can't show them too much respect. They've been very unconvincing recently and their fans aren't confident and don't like the manager, who seems like a French Nigel Clough. If we go in with any kind of inferiority complex that will be a big leveller in a game we should be favourites in

I think a hell of a lot hinges on our subs and how Wilder uses them. He might have this in mind and play to go the distance, but we should very much be focused on taking the game to them and winning in 90 minutes
Where have you got the idea we don't like the head coach lol........he's done a tremendous gig for his first term in English football. Lol.

We played both league fixtures during a period when you were consistently winning fixtures, ultimately taking four points from the six, of course we had a terrible end to the season, however, our destiny was already secured, so obviously there's going to be a dip in form, nobody wants to suffer injury etc leading up to the two biggest games of the season, hence a drop off in form.
I like Sunderland, good club and supporters .

I think Utd will win quite comfortably and convincingly. 3-0 .

I think it's bound to be a tight, close game. Both teams know what's at stake here and it'll probably one of those 'who blinks first' type of games.

I just hope it doesn't go to penalties because losing that way always feels the most devastating.

I'll just wait and see what happens on the day mate, I've learnt over the years to never get cocky re matchday predictions.
I think it will be a tight attritional game, might even be extra time and pens given what’s at stake.

If we weren’t there I’d like to see you go up, but we are and I’d really like to see us get this play off monkey off our back

Ditto to that mate, you'll deserve it if you win it. No sour grapes from me.

I have already asked MBH about Mark, he doesnt know him, am asking you if you do?
Do you know Mark Pickersgill? He was a year below me at the boarding school near Newbury (I am now 63). in 1976 or 1977 Jim Montgomery visited him at school after going to a business meeting in the south. He was a good footballer and was in the same school team as me at every age level from u13s to the 1st team. I have not seen him since I left school in 1979

It's no longer a case of worrying just about Isidor and Mayenda, Mundle is now on the scene !!!
I think Mundle will start with Roberts going on the bench, Mundle is pure energy.

Last time we met in playoffs was 3-2 aggregate score in our favour, the final was against charlton, probably one of the most famous finals, when we went out on penalties, we absolutely stormed the league the following season.

I'm going 3-0 United,why not,it's the new Blades way.
Decent side though Sunderland tbf,but i really fancy us to finally do it at Wembley....felt the same in all the other play off finals,Hudds apart.
If we end up getting beat,i'll just slip myself into 'Another year in the Champ isn't that bad' mode.

Anyone know the dimensions of Wembley pitch?!? I remember it looking MASSIVE when watched us in FA cup semifinal versus Hull all those years ago.

If it is still bigger than we're used to, it's important to consider who's got the legs / energy to run for a frantic 90 (or 120!) minutes. Or make well timed, decent, pacy subs (Callum O'Hare ?) to exploit opposition as they tire

Seen 2-3 meters quoted

I think we've asked Wembley to move the advertising hoardings closer to the touchline, just to try and cancel out any long throwers.
Good luck with that. They're all electronic and quite firmly fixed.

Pitch dimensions:
Bramall Lane: 102x66m (112x72 yards)
Stadium of Light: 105x68m (115x74 yards)
Wembley: 105x68m (115x74 yards)

Wembley's pitch is probably overestimated because the seating is a lot further from it than at other stadia: about 15m on the south side and 18m behind the goals.

I was only joking mate, when we did it for our home leg v Coventry it caused an absolute meltdown on their forums.
