I am sick to the back teeth of turning up at these and not seeing a single effort on goal, I want to see a performance next week.

It will be totally unacceptable to lose next Saturday after the season we've had.

If Wilder doesn't get em up for this he may as well leave straight after.

3 nil Blades

Newcastle win League Cup.
Palarse win FA Cup.
Naaaah, we can't.
  • League Cup winners - first trophy for 70 years
  • FA Cup winners - first major trophy win ever
  • No club has ever lost 10 play off campaigns - this is our 10th
  • 100 years since our last major trophy
  • Biggest ever aggregate win in Champ PO semi finals

It's got to be this time, surely.

Sunderland are absolutely fantastic, proper, powerful powerful and many other things. Wow, what a club. If we don't go up I'm glad it will be them who do 🎩

But if we perform we should win

We can't show them too much respect. They've been very unconvincing recently and their fans aren't confident and don't like the manager, who seems like a French Nigel Clough. If we go in with any kind of inferiority complex that will be a big leveller in a game we should be favourites in

I think a hell of a lot hinges on our subs and how Wilder uses them. He might have this in mind and play to go the distance, but we should very much be focused on taking the game to them and winning in 90 minutes

Football is a mixture of luck and skill. You can have more possession and create more chances. You can 'deserve to win'. But you can't account for deflections, fluke goals, keeper errors, conceding a pen through an accidental handball, errors by officials, injuries to key players etc.

Wilder could have us fully prepared, with the right team and right tactics, but we could still lose. There are some things you just can't control.

So yeah, even though 19 other Championshjp teams would love to be in our position, let's sack our manager immediately after the game if we lose.

That says nothing about losing I said he needs to get them up for it, for me it is unbelievable that 4 different squads and managers and different times has each yielded zero shots at net from open play and 4 pathetic performances.

That is what I want next Saturday.

We need to play front foot football but being wary of the counter attack , that is sunderlands strength. For me id play hamza to stop the quick breaks, although he gives nothing going forwards his ability to stop attacks is his strength. Id like us to play 2 up front. This game is the only one i have ever been fairly optimistic of winning, bring our A game and i think we will win.
Does anyone know what you do if you win as ive always fcked off and never watched a presentation, could be a new experience

Been here before, I haven't got the confidence in the playoffs (understandable) there's just something In life that wasn't meant to be, not saying we're not good enough to be there!
We never handle pressure unfortunately.
0-2 Sunderland

I think it's a 50/50 game that will go to the wire, and will ultimately be decided by a shootout. Both league games were tight affairs, albeit we played with ten men for a lot of the game at your place.

You played for the grand amount of FIVE minutes more than us with ten men...Mepham sent off in minute 40.....Souttar sent off in minute 45.

We played both league fixtures during a period when you were consistently winning fixtures, ultimately taking four points from the six, of course we had a terrible end to the season, however, our destiny was already secured, so obviously there's going to be a dip in form, nobody wants to suffer injury etc leading up to the two biggest games of the season, hence a drop off in form.

Both sides won at home so it's three points from six, not four. The side we played at the SoL was patched up and running on fumes - Kieffer Moore didn't play for over three months and Tom Davies struggled through two more games and hasn't made an appearance since but even then the winner came after a poor error by Jack Robinson

It was an odd end to the season for Sunderland but ultimately you've lost 6 of the last 8. Form isn't usually something which can be switched back on and you're only at Wembley because your centre half scored with his back in the 122nd minute. Coventry played a bit naively in that first leg but equally that tie was decided by an awful error by van Ewijk rather than any brilliant attacking play.

All that said, it's a one-off and that neutralises a lot of the factors. I expect Sunderland to make a fast start to try and get the fans louder but I also expect us to weather that storm. I think we'll target O'Nien - committed though he is, he's got an error in him - and use Vini Souza and Peck slightly deeper to restrict Le Fée and Bellingham.

It matters too much to both teams for it to be anything but a cagey affair but I'm hopeful to the verge of confident that we can finally win a play off final.

Aye my bad re the four points from six. I don't think we'll start like a house on fire, it usually takes us about 20 minutes to get into the game, re the semis, I'd say that we've won over the two legs because we've executed an excellent and disciplined game plan. Obviously I'd love to be back I'm the premier league, however I won't be crying about it if we fail, we're a young young team, obviously players will leave, but the mantra within the club is to bring young players on and sell for profit. The only positives from the premier league are parachute payments when you're relegated. All I do is take one game at a time. That's it.
