Weird game. Could hardly keep the ball first half yet created most the chances/touches in the box!

Changed it up and we're well on top and then nerves kicked in and the late goal is a sucker punch yet with Burnley dropping points and having Egan Riley sent off it's a complete mix of emotions!

One game at a time. Best possible line up raring to go please Chris!
Always the optimist eh.
As if this arrogant imbecile EVER learns anything.
Not heard what he's said yet but there we be an army responsible rather than him.
Same as Leeds end of game for me without the start - less than 20% possession with nothing on offer at all.
Sat back, TOO DEEP, NO pressure on the ball round the edge of the box.
Total contrast with them at the end after they equalized re pressure on ball forcing us backward and denying balls into box.
Same batshit crazy 'anti football' tactics that made us a record breaking laughing stock worldwide last season will ** us this season but that ** is happy.
He has a contract and a half wit cheer leading press behind him, (mostly wendies like Staton and Biggs) and enough imbecilc fans.
NO confidence in the new owners.
NO indication they have a clue giving him this imbecilic 3 year extension when no ***** else had/has an interest.

I'm sorry but Choudry needs to be replaced by Shackleton ( if he's fit ) I didn't see the first half but peck consistently looks over his shoulder when paired with him

1:1 a fair result in the end. They moved the ball around well but with no end product for much of the game. We looked occasionally dangerous on the break but no end product. I'm not convinced of those penalty claims. There was contact on Burrows but he was looking for it. Went down far too easily (I actually thought the ref was going to book him). As for the scramble after the handball is ball to hand (too close), there was a bit of contact on the second one and hard to tell on the third. We've got away with a few this season so always going to even out sometime.

I do, however, think Robbo was very lucky not to be sent off. Essentially assault!

The problem was that we had no real system/Style of play again and then decided to sit back and try and catch them on the counter (which we nearly did).

Cooper - 7 - One really great save but he also had a bad spill he was lucky to get away with. Generally solid as per.
Burrows - 6 - Did ok but didn't really have his normal impact. Kept going and he'll feel hard done by at the end but I think he was looking for it.
Robbo - 5 - He needs anger management. Once again he throws someone over his shoulder and then goes at him again. lucky not to be sent off. He was also our worst defender tonight. Too slow and got caught a few times.
Holding - 6.5 - Thought he did well. Bit of a mess with Seriki and JRS down our right first half but covered it well.
Seriki - 5.5 - Got forward a few times but, especially first half, I thought he got pulled out of position on far too many occasions.
Peck - 5.5 - Thought he was poor. Sloppy and slow. We're pushing him towards that over-tired state again and performances drop.
Choudhury - 5.5 - Busy and snapped in to tackles. Had to do a fair bit of covering but he gets pulled out of position and there were big gaps in the middle at times.
O'Hare - 6 - Lively as per usual. Our main creative outlet first half. Surprised he got pulled off to be honest.
BBD - 5 - Thought he was poor again. Makes a lot of bad decisions. I was expecting more of an impact.
JRS - 5 - Had a couple of moments going forward but doesn't track back and there were huge gaps first half for them to exploit.
Campbell - 7.5 - You could argue this is a bit generous as he should have done better with a couple of chances but once again he's the player we have to rely on to score.

Subs:

Brewster - 6.5 - Set up the goal and looks quite creative when he gets on the ball. I need to see more from the rest of his game though. Had a chance which he delayed a fraction and they got back.
Hamer - 6.5 - Started the move for the goal playing a much deeper quarter back position. Looked the most likely to create once O'Hare went off.
Moore - 6.5 - Did quite well but the end product just wasn't there. Held the ball up and made runs. Looked a better bench option than Canon
Anel - 6 - I really didn't notice him but gets a 6 for not getting booked
McCallum - 5.5 - Didn't add the assurance at the back

Wilder - 6 - Once again we weren't the best team first half. Looked to have got away with it yet again until near the end. Subs both involved with our goal but sitting back finally got us punished.

Bristol City - They move the ball around really well without necessarily having the end product. I did think their defenders looked clumsy though. Like an accident waiting to happen.

We've picked up a lot of points this season when maybe we didn't deserve to. Performance no different today but our luck didn't hold.

Positives as well as negatives: Holding looked fine and fit enough to play most of the game, Anel and Hamer didn't pick up bookings, Campbell, BBD, and Seriki building up minutes, and Gus should be fresh for the weekend.

Negatives: We don't look the same without Souza and could do with Tom Davies back as well. Some blame has to go on the CBs (and management team) for not pushing Hamza and Peck forward. I feel that commanding leadership is where we really miss Souttar. We just seemed to surrender the middle of the park.

I just don’t think this formation suits us. We supposedly have 2 defensive midfielders behind 3 attacking ones but in actual fact we just concede possession with little on the counter unless Campbell is playing and nobody in the middle to control play.

I like ohare but he seems to be essentially someone that closes players down and doesn’t offer a regular threat going forward.

4-5-1 would probably suit us more, or dare I say it .. 3–5-2.

We need some control of the ball and to be able to retain possession even if it’s just to kill the game and opposition momentum for 10 minutes.

Can't argue with the league position, but why are we always dull as dishwater?
You can't shithouse forever, it will catch up with you.
This Wilder is very different from the original version.
Agree... this version of CW is very different to the first one. Back then I never doubted us in the crunch games, local derbies etc. Now it feels like the opposite. I hope that I'm badly wrong come the end of the game on Sunday. Then again... I'd settle for another underwhelming performance and 3 points!

Let's keep the faith Blades and get behind the lads for the run in. My nightmare is us falling short, then seeing Gus sold to the scum and being deployed way more effectively than we've used him this year.....

UTB!

Too many shit performances at home of a late, on the front foot wilder says, there’s no tempo in our games.

He will come out and defend it … but it’s every week now … think I’m done watching them… I just dot get any enjoyment from it and we are second in the league so that’s saying something

I know I should be happy and grateful but I’m not and that makes me sad
You are done watching us despite us still being in with a great chance of automatic promotion??. Piss off then you won’t be missed.

I agree with pretty most of what robbiez666 said. I thought Burrows got skinned a fair bit in the first half by their winger, so would have scored him less. Apart from his stupidity at the end thought JLT wasn't too bad (I did enjoy his obligatory crunching tackle).

I agree with your scores for Hamza and Peck individually - not dire but not good either. As a pair they just don't compliment each other. I can't remember them linking up at all.

Best comment was for giving Anel a decent score for not getting booked!

Thought we looked incredibly disjointed 1st half….reminded me of Wrexham in the home match in the cup.
At half time I said to a few reasonable types “would you take a draw” and they all said YES.

H-T 0-0 but Bristol City controlled midfield and deserved to be leading 1-0.

Positives: Holding looked calm and assured, was quite impressed. Thought Burrows had a busy 1st half. Also again Campbell looked very good.
Negatives: Our right side with Rak Sakyi and Sereki looked terrible. Also thought Peck looked lost…no interplay with Hamza.

2nd half again we started looking disjointed….a goal was coming for Bristol City.
Then Wilder made early substitutions bringing on Hamer and Brewster for a poor/ lethargic Rak Sakyi.

We instantly improved and had a 15 minute spell of possession and attacking intent.
We deservedly scored and looked dangerous. Peck was suddenly playing well again, even Brewster looked lively.

Then gradually……little by little we dropped back….deeper and deeper….totally giving up possession with Bristol City totally bossing the game.

Bristol City scored a 90th minute goal but it was coming….they definitely deserved it and looked a really good team.

Based on chances a draw was a fair result
Based on general quality of play Bristol City deserved to win….they looked a better more well drilled outfit than us.

Is

Is that the same Brewster that got a lovely assist? Thought he was fine when he came on. Oh, and BBD wasn't a sub. And the pen appeal was on Burrows not Moore. Apart from that, good write up.
I’m talking about Moore having his foot studded after the weak handball shout not the push in Burrows back for the pen. I also thought that Campbell did incredibly well to control the flick from Brewster and made it look like an excellent pass whereas nine times out of ten it would have amounted to nothing. Apart from that, a good review of my comment.

In the melee towards the end, Anel made sure he was well away from it. Very sensible by the lad

You could argue what doesn’t suit us is having to start the game without our three first choice midfielders - Arblaster, Souza and Hamer and the player with most top level experience, Tom Davies.

How many other teams would lose those 4 options and put in a cavalier footballing masterclass? Take 4 first choice picks out of Leeds‘ or Burnley’s midfield and see how they get on…

Very disappointing, can't argue with a point, sitting back one goal was always going to bite us at some point. Also poor so many walking out when it went 1-1.

And apart from Arblaster, why exactly are they out.
Oh yes, they aren't fit enough to play 90 minutes, or they can't keep their traps shut on the pitch and Wilder can't trust them to not get booked.

Both are pathetic excuses

I think this game showed that Choudhury is not an adequate Vini Souza replacement. He plays way too deep and offers little going forward. It's almost a back 5 with Choudhury in midfield which leaves Peck pretty much on his own.

My hope is that Tom Davies will be back soon. We need him.

a draw is mostly fair. as Bristol city were decent & for whatever that spark was missing that id seen in previous 3 home games. aside from cracking move for 1-0. it felt slow & laboured. it wasnt until stoppage time the real blades turned up & we saw a bit of urgency. where has this team been all match

for me 94th, it wouldve been very soft to give it as a penalty on burrows. yes the defender was very clumsy. but i can see why ref think Burrows is waiting for it. but the 97th min penalty shout, the referee as bottled that 1, as you see them given in Premier league all the time. wouldve given a chance to have a undeserved victory

its only 1 game but delighted for rob holding. i said when we signed him. you dont win 2 FA cups & start a europa league semi only 4 years ago. without being a quality player.

Vini was a big miss tonight, please be fit for Sunday 🤞

Also thought Peck looked lost…no interplay with Hamza.
Felt for Peck today, basically played by himself in the centre of the park with zero help. Reason being his midfield partner Choudhury was non existent. Choudhurys game was to drop very deep take the ball off the centre half and pass it to the full back then just walk forward with the defence as the ball went forward. Peck was literally by himself time and time again in the centre and certainly couldn’t do any interplay with Choudhury as he wasn’t there.

Vini's hamstring is tweaked. How is pathetic? It needs resting or it goes.

See the first part of my post then
Never have we had so many players who constantly get injured, or get a tweak, or they spilled their water bottle and are to upset to play.
It's pathetic, bad planning, bad training methods, call it whatever, but it's pathetic.

So it's pathetic to be injured? Ok. No point discussing the ludicrous point further.

Not the end of the world (that's still to come of course) as other results went our way.

Rather like the Leeds game we tried to engineer a 1-0 win and were found wanting.

Credit to Bristol their game flowed and they controlled much of the game.

They did control a lot of the game you’re correct.
Thing is they’ll get spanked 4 nil at the end of the month by Burnley and at the end of the season by Leeds.

It seems when you have ex defenders as managers you get dull defensive shite.

So if you have an ex striker as manager you have no defence and concede shed loads.

Do Burnley have an ex midfielder as manager because they draw loads.
