Even the neutrals give us no chance against City. That’s a free hit for PH to pick his team, based on his opinions.
I have an awful feeling that he will start with a midfield 3 of Berge, Norwood and Fleck.Norwood always enjoys the freedom and security of Fleck alongside him, and Berge’s recent improvement has been driven by Doyle replacing Norwood.
Unfortunately Jimmy Fleck will turn up and spoil the PH master plan.
Billy Sharp will lead the team out as club captain, with Ndiaye alongside him.
Wes in goal, with Baldock, Ahmedhodzic/Basham and JLT in front of him. PH will play Lowe at LWB which is ok, because Clark can come off the bench to play LCB and JLT can play LWB.

No Doyle and No McATee means an opportunity to develop a few youngsters. McBurnie’s possible injury, and loss of form means a chance to start Jebbo as Billy’s replacement.

According to pundits and most neutrals, we have no chance in this game. Maybe PH can be adventurous with his starting line up, pick a strong bench, and let them have at it.

My dream, despite all this worrying about selection, is for Billy Sharp to come on for the last twenty and score a hat trick! 😇

Already looking forward to Fallowfields team to macerate Manchester and the fact that we get to play Manchester in the semis and the final and see Sir Alex cry salty tears into his Earl Grey as Billy lifts the Cup to crown his playing career in the sure and certain knowledge that 2 leagues separate us from the swine and another generation of Wednesday fans will not see their team play in the top flight.

Okay, maybe getting ahead of myself here....

It's nice to go into Wembley for once as heavy favourites. Just hope Andy Morrison doesn't injure Illy. Don't rate their top 2 in Dickov and Goater & if we can keep Kevin Horlock quiet we should absolute romp it!
You’re right, as long as we stop them feeding the Goat….

Great, they'll probably play their 2nd choice team at the weekend with a front line of Mahrez Alvarez Foden - easy! 😬
....plus the reserve keeper,Walker,LaPorte,Rico,Philips, Palmer,Gomez + some others.
The bench could be Ederson,Stones,Dias,Akanji,Hernandez,Silva,DeBruyne,Gundogan,Grealish,Haaland
The game agin Le Arse next Wednesday is much more important,as is promotion to you.
Don’t forget to have the jerk chicken in the Green Man....phenomenal !!

Manchester City versus Sheffield United stats and facts

● Sheffield United have won all four of their FA Cup ties against Manchester City, most recently a 2-1 fourth round victory in the 2007-08 campaign.

● But in all competitions, Man City are unbeaten in 12 home games against Sheffield United (W7 D5) since a 3-2 loss in the second tier in October 1987. The Citizens have kept a clean sheet in their last nine such games.

● Top-flight clubs have won the last 13 FA Cup semi-final ties against sides from a lower division, since Sunderland beat Norwich 1-0 at Hillsborough in the 1991-92 campaign.

● Manchester City are featuring in the FA Cup semi-finals for the sixth time in the last seven seasons and for the fifth consecutive campaign. However, they've lost four of their five ties in this time, and could become the first side in FA Cup history to lose a semi-final in four consecutive campaigns.

● Sheffield United are looking to reach the FA Cup final for the first time since 1936. The Blades have lost five semi-finals in that time, most recently a 5-3 loss to Hull City in 2013-14.

● Manchester City have won all four of their FA Cup games this season by an aggregate score of 14-0. The last team to reach the FA Cup final without conceding a goal en route were Everton in 1965-66.

● Sheffield United beat Premier League opposition (Spurs) in the fifth round of the FA Cup this season, ending a run of five consecutive defeats against top-flight sides in the competition. They last eliminated multiple top-tier opponents in a single campaign in 2013-14 (Aston Villa and Fulham).

● Manchester City have lost four of their last five games at Wembley Stadium (W1), as many as they had in their first 18 at the ground since its reopening in 2007 (W11 D3).

● Sheffield United are winless in their last six competitive matches at Wembley Stadium (D1 L5) since winning their first ever match at the ground in the 1925 FA Cup final (1-0 vs Cardiff).

● Man City's Phil Foden has been involved in seven goals in his last six FA Cup appearances (4 goals, 3 assists). Overall in the competition, Foden has won 16 of his 19 games, with his only three defeats coming in his three appearances at Wembley Stadium.

● No team has had more different goalscorers in the FA Cup this season than Sheffield United (10, excluding own goals), with Oli McBurnie the only player to score more than once for the Blades so far.

● Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick in Man City's 6-0 quarter-final win against Burnley, making him the first ever player to score an FA Cup, Premier League and Champions League hat-trick in the same campaign. This would be his first appearance at Wembley Stadium, with Ronny Johnsen the last Norwegian player to net for a Premier League club at the ground (with Manchester United in the 1997 Community Shield).

The Blades supporter info put up on the website yesterday mentions a Sheff Utd Fans Zone, where you can get a drink (alcoholic) and food, on the Wembley 'pad'. It opens at 12.30pm and stops serving an hour before kick-off. It doesn't say much more than that, apart from it has limited capacity!!?!?
The Man City version of this, apart from their Fan Zone at the east end, says that they can get a drink until kick-off (I'm presuming this is a mistake as they wouldn't want a rush of fans at that time!), but also says they have 5 local pubs allocated to them. Bizarre!
Anyone know if we have any 'officially appointed pubs??

Just noticed it is a mistake as it closes at 4.15pm.

And City have their own 'Access Team' on-site for any support they might need. I hope they're busy after the game! (Doubt it)

😭 😭 😭

Let's hope that's not 28-0 before they play the final 🤣

Wes
Baldock Anel Egan JLT Lowe
Berge Norwood Coulibaly
Jebbison Ndiaye

Sharp on for last 30 to score winner 😍
What about playing Ndiaye in McAtee's left midfield role, and McBurnie & Jebbison upfront? McBurnie is useful in defending corners and set-pieces; Jebbo can chase long balls upfront. Bring Fleck on for the last 15 minutes when we're defending a one-goal lead.

Probably wishful thinking on my part. I fear we'll get hammered however we play.

Ideal team for me

Wes
Baldock Anel Egan Robbo Lowe
Berge Norwood Coulibaly
Sharp Ndiaye

No offence to Mcburnie or Jebbo, and I haven't been Billy's biggest supporter this season, but he's been great in the last couple and absolutely deserves to be leading the team out at Wembley. Sentimentality? Maybe, but we're all expecting to get pasted anyway :)

Fleck did absolutely nothing in that 45 minute cameo to suggest he's 'got the legs' for this game. Coulibaly's previous cup appearances (off the back of little to no playing time) have been much better. Even if he only lasts 55/60 minutes, that's better than Fleck for 70 odd.

I would wet myself and not be surprised if Hecky shocks evryone and goes right back to basics and basically decides to play a nominated man-to-man marking operation throughout the entire game. Pity anyone who has Baldock or Ahmedhodžić slamming into them for the entire game! And McBurnie taking out Kyle Walker would crack me up!

Shame Jose Baxter's tackling skills are no longer available to us; he'd probably see a red after a few minutes no doubt; but Haaland would be in Hammersmith Hospital as a result.

For the uninitiated, check out this Jose Baxter attrocity...
Jose Baxter Bad Boy

Printed the tickets out (there are 5 of us) they seem a bit small.

Anyone any idea if I need to split them up and print them separate?

Have any of the club psychologists or PR professionals ever told Hecky that this incessant stroking of his neck, forehead, cheeks and temples in interviews is a sign of unease?!?

Calm on the outside? Stressed senseless on the inside? Sounds like every Blade on the planet! 🎶He's one of our own? 🎶

Hands down, look at camera or interviewer, answer questions. Simples.

Lets have a go at least. Shocks do happen in football.
