Just on way home. Some good, some dodgy.

Makings of something very good there.

Brandy easily MOTM.

Other notable performers were mcdonald and coady. The latter in particular looks really promising.

He looked a lot better at Alfreton. I know he didn't have long tonight, but he didn't have as much of an impact.

Another thing I like about him is that he's vocal.

Yep, noticed that too. Really told Flynn to cover at one point.

I was a little disappointed with mcginn tonight. He wasnt poor, but I expected him to be tidier. I also thought that although maguire was clumsy tonight, he was given a dodgy ball by doyle that resulted in the first goal.

Who was the member of the coaching staff leaning against the dugout and scribbling all match? Didn't recognise him at all.

Again, I'd suggest that McGinn has played better so far than he did tonight. He's use of the ball wasn't as good as it has been.

I didn't really pay attention to the dug outs, what did he look like?

Kind of like a slimmer Unsworth. Had an earpiece in and was nattering away all match to someone.

Coady played an excellent ball out to McMahon before our second goal, and moments earlier he had played one out to the other flank. Steven Gerrardesqe, though he was not perfect.

I think tonight's opposition is better than what we'll face in League One. Based on that I think there were many positives.

We did lose the ball dangerously a couple of times, and I am glad we played at least one friendly where the opposition was good enough to punish us for it.

From your short description I'd guess it was most likely Darren Ward?

He looks more like* Unsworth than Adam Owen.

* but still not really :D

That's the badger. Just had a look on google images and it certainly is.

Quick match report

In the second friendly match on English soil Atromitos emerged tonight draw with Sheffield United in the «Bramall Lane» 2-2.
At the start of the match our team showed influenced by the suffering three-hour trip from Chester to Sheffield (arrived at the stadium an hour before the start of the race) and went very numb so just the second minute Porter who was forgotten in the area made it 1-0.
After the first quarter, however, the picture Fearless improved significantly and the equalizer came in the 11 'with nearby creatures napoleoan that took advantage of the unstable fend keeper to shoot Papadopoulos (1-1).
The 3000 fans warmly applauded, however, the second goal Fearless achieved by soloist Stefano napoleoan in 26 'after good cooperation with Papadopoulos Brito (1-2).
The equalizer for the hosts came in 90 'with a screening of a measure of Taylor (2-2).
In conclusion, the team showed us that has taken the right course in its way. Again had good ball circulation, good growth and efficiency. Simultaneously given the opportunity to coach us to use all the players and especially young age shouting "present" gaining important experience that will be very useful in the future.

Im all for playing passing football but not 8 yards from our own goal line, thought we defended too deep last night

Positives.

Pitch looks fantastic.
Brandy showed some nice skills and can beat a man. On several occasions, they had to resort to fouling him. I can see him winning a few pens this season.
Taylor looked decent when he came on. Nice bit of skill with a backheel pass.
kmac was invincible with the ball at his feet, they just could not get it off him.
Williams looked more capable, shame he got injured.
Porter worked his nuts off as usual and scored again.

Negatives.

Maquire looked very sloppy to me. Not only was the goal his fault, but he kept delaying passes and landing himself in trouble. The moment when he tried to shepard the ball out and the zippy Antoriminoiouioonos player ran in to dispossess him tipified this.
Mcginn looked bloody awful. His passing was diabolical. I understand he has looked bettter in other pre-season matches. Hope this is right because I was surprised how poor he was last night.
We kept going backwards when it seemed totally unecerssary. I'm all for starting again and not forcing the pass, but there were passes on and we seemed obsessed with booting it 60 yards to the back four.

Overall I think Weir will start Friday with a 4-5-1 Porter the lone striker with Murphy and Brandy cutting inside. I can't see us keeping a clean sheet though..

I thought Coady played well when he came on he tried to move the ball quickly and the majority of his passes were forward and he set up the goal with two great passes. We do look poor when we stop passing it crisply and soon get ourselves in trouble. Also thought they were technically a good side although rather dirty
