Hope we get pigs at home in next rnd..play full strength and go to town on em..UTMB!

As a matter of interest, I read your post where you referred to it as pathetic. Is that positive?

I post plenty of positives.

You're only interested when it's negative. Been the same for years.

Ravel just epitomises everything we're not. Zero energy, never supports his man or makes himself available, he basically doesn't do the hard yards.

I think people are willing him to be good and desperately want him to be, but just because you wish he was doesn't mean you can make an argument that he is.

I've seen every minute he's played for us and he's not arsed so neither am I. Tear up the contract
I disagree. Because someone doesn't spend the whole game running around like a headless chicken doesnt mean they are not arsed. I'm not saying he was great, or even good but everyone seems to want to attack his character when the most informed person (and the only one that counts) thinks he has a great attitude.

On the performance, he clearly isn't the box to box attacking threat people assumed he was. He is tidy, plays it simple but every now and again pulls off a pass that shows his class. He's obviously not close to the first team. He needs to be more positive for me, be braver.

Do I think he will become a regular? No, I would be surprised but I don't think you can criticise his character because of past events. By the accounts that matter he has been a good professional with us.

Ravel's lack of pace has killed him. There's next to nothing left there unfortunately.

Not sure how some are slagging off Freeman, but Osborn is getting praise. Some of Osborn's tackling was nowhere near getting the ball, and going forward he contributed next to nothing. I wouldn't want either of them spending much time in the first team, but they're about on a par with each other.

Bryan is the obvious weak link unfortunately, so moving Stevens is the only credible JOC backup at the moment. Rodwell needs to get fit, but appeared to understand the Bash role at least. Ravel just doesn't move enough to fit our system, in a league with lots of passing to feet and no pressing he'd be fine, but anything that requires running isn't his game. Luke Freeman was mostly good until it came to shooting when he always hit a defender (or the post, but that one turned into a goal, so I'll let him off), easily best of the players that started.

It was a massive improvement on the Barnet game at least, not particularly smooth and free-flowing, but more like a second-string team than a complete bunch of strangers like last year. Basham coming on made a big difference and even if we play most of this team again next time, slipping in a few more first teamers in place of guys like Bryan, Morrison and Clarke should produce a better performance.

While it worked in the Championship, I’d be a bit concerned about doing this again in the Premier League. It would effectively make us weaker in two positions rather than covering for one, and having seen Bryan again today I think we need to therefore prioritise LCB cover as our next signing this window.

Ha, fair play mate and we don't have to agree, that's grand. But zero attacking his character from me, and zero criticising him from past events; I commented on his (brief number admittedly of) performances for us.

He's played as if he isn't arsed and hasn't worked hard on the pitch- he's provided no tempo, no energy, no availability or positivity in a side which purely revolves around such. Nobody said anything about being box to box or running around?

Anyway, quite good fun arguing about a load of things you've not even said, but I stand by everything I did, UTB mate 👍

Looks like people saw in the performances what they wanted to. I was pleased to see Ravel running at the defence in the box in the first half, an option that has been missing this season so far. I thought that K Freeman looked good going forward and that Osborne could have had 2 straight reds.

Surrounded by the first team any of them could do a job in the short term. Not sure that they need replacing immediately, better to wait until the end of the season.

big relief to get through. as it wasnt all about fa cup today. because 1 shock is annoying but happens to the best but we couldn't lose to non league in consecutive yrs. that would have put a black mark against incredible job wilder has done

thought it was better than last year because espically as 1st half we had more of a cutting edge, as i might be wrong but i cant remember if we forced a save out of Barnet gk. probably deserved to be ahead by few more Besic Freeman Revel Robinson all a threat at some point . but then credit to fylde like barnet last yr. gave us some very worrying spells in that 2nd half. like the free header & at 2-1 i thought here we go again

How is saying he isn't arsed not attacking his character? He was on the ball plenty and was in good positions in their box and just didn't get picked out , Freeman shooting past defenders instead of picking him out in space springs to mind. I know you didn't say everything in my post it was just a general observation of the criticisms he's getting.

I don't mind agreeing to disagree, obviously we can all have different views.
