I feel sorry for anyone who went and paid to watch that. Barely deserved a win, but a win is a win I guess.

Freeman - Looked a shadow of George Baldock, but still one of our better players
Bash - Fine. Much better when he came on. Rodwell did not look convincing. Lack of marking or discipline
Jags - Looks like his legs have gone. Was generally sloppy
Bryan - hahahahahahahaha His constitutions for their goal is hilarious. He'll be lucky to make a league 1 player
Osborn - Rash, bad decisions, should have been off and doesn't look like he has the ability to defend. I'm very unconvinced he could play at wingback
Besic - Our best player and the only one who looked confident and assured. Sat at the back and swept up.
L Freeman - The lad makes the worst decisions. He does something really good and then chooses the wrong option time and again
Morrison - Nowhere near good enough
Leon - Past it. Desperate to score and made better runs second half
Robinson - Looked good in the box. Did precious little outside it, although he did improve

All in all, I think half that team would struggle in League 1.

Let's hope we don't get any injuries. We'll be fucked.

Only gone and bloody won.

Some decent performances in the context of our second XI against Fylde, Like Freeman, Robinson, Osborn, but have to say K Freeman has put in a performance that would be lucky to get him a league one club.

Feel like Morrison was showing that he can play with a bit more positional discipline and less rash tackles, but sort of made him a bit pointless.
Last minute corner for them, everyone up Inc goalie. Yeates takes it... oops doesn't beat first man!!!. Whistle goes full time

Robinson? Thought he was poor again.

Not sure what people expect from this game. It should have been obvious from the team selected how it would go, at least half of them know that no matter how they perform they will not get games in the first team & it is really hard for a team to show any cohesion for 1 game in 30. Good work outs for Jags, L Freeman, Rodwell , Osborn & Besic, the others were just about what I expected. Despite the tight score line we were always in control & played with a bit to spare IMO.
Surprised Billy & McBurnie didn't get some minutes, & disappointed that Robinson did very little again, thought Clarke was better which says something, & I don't quite get the hate for Bryan, if he stays fit he just needs games really, he is athletic, good in the air & shows decent flashes so only games will get rid of the rashness he sometimes has.

I thought he was one of the main outlets for our play going forward tbh based on the steam I saw. Also some nice nostalgia towards the end of seeing the Basham-Freeman telepathic understanding again. His delivery into the box though was a mixed bag.

Well they played better than the two League cup games. Started off well and passing like the first team Robinsons goal was well taken even not deflected it was going in the other corner. Then he just faded and seemed to disappear for large portions of the match. How many crosses and how we failed to get a shot on target.

Henderson for their goal what was he thinking. I think he was due a howler and glad it was this match to get it out of his system.

Basham coming on looked absolute class (didnt think I would ever say that) and within 5 minutes of coming on we had two goals - one disallowed.

Needs more of the first team players in the next round if serious about the cup. In the end we won and we should have.

Freeman did well getting into position to cross time and time again, particularly in the first half, but his execution was poor.

What the fuck was Bryan playing at there. Totally needless injury for Verrips ruined his debut. We could've done with the minutes for him, whereas Bryan is unneeded and will be leaving shortly.

Henderson then didn't try to stop the goal as he was focused on avoiding injury.

Performance wise, exactly as expected. A laboured struggle. Luke Freeman did himself no harm. Osborn OK. Very few positives otherwise.

Just the sort of pathetic occasion it was always going to be.

Reading some of your posts I not not sure why you support us, pretty much everything you say is a negative with the odd little nugget thrown in. You obviously get no pleasure from our performances so why bother?

So, did Dean Hammond wear his Ravel Morrison fancy dress outfit today, and play in midfield, because, eather CWAK were on heroin when they watched him and offered him a contract, or it was a very very foggy day!!??

Think you got Ravel and Bryan very, very wrong chaps!
Both pathetic and would be better working at Amazon!

Weird game, most of them know they won’t make premier league side...and most know they are probably off elsewhere.
so perhaps not busting a gut.

But very disappointing if Ravel hasn’t at least put himself about a bit. Did see he played the pass for Freeman to hit the post mind. But would like to hear how he and Besic have played rings around a non league midfield really!

In all my years of watching football I've always thought that players on the pitch do a lot better than the players sat on the bench ;)

Had high hopes after the first 30. We didn't push on, I suspect CW will be a tad disappointed. Impressed with the fitness of the Fylde players. I always try to see the positive in players and tend not to mention the negatives. However, I don't see how Bryan is anywhere near a PL standard player. Very poor.
I like Besic and L Freeman. Osborn has something about him, don't know what yet. That bloke Basham was brill when he came on. The rest are just a bit average. If we stay in the PL for next season I can see most of those who played today, gone.

I thought he was slow, took too many touches and his delivery was all over the place. He got in the positions but dithered and lacked the incisiveness that made him so good for us. At least he didn't give up on any perfectly fine passes because he thought they were going out, and the fumbling around with Leon with the goal wide open was pretty bad.

Robinson was anonymous second half BladeInIreland I agree, had a good first half though.

Personally I'm glad Henderson went for self preservation and conceded too.

A pretty pathetic performance. As expected. Into the 4th round we go though.

There are a load of unpleasant unfair comments on Leon on another thread. He pressed for 90 - he engaged backing in for every long ball out. He’s not what he was but to imply he put no effort in is simply ridiculous. For minimal effort look at “no contact all match” Robinson. Callum has some lovely touches on the ball but has yet to complete a tackle.

For incompetence look no further than Bryan and for disinterest no further than Ravel.

Goodish start from Rodwell but we were different class when Bash came on. Watching Bash, Kieran F and Leon doing triangles in the corner was just like old times.

Jags was as professional as ever, but stars of the show were Luke and Ben. Luke was magnificent for 90 minutes, aggressive and skilful. Start him against Sham in my books.

Call the mods, 14 of my threads appear to have gone missing after the last two league defeats. You're, as ever, an idiot.

I got no pleasure out of that performance, no.

Oooooooh flower, don't be so hurtful....

You're due 21 threads tonight then, so crack on, you insufferably boring fuck.

Ravel just epitomises everything we're not. Zero energy, never supports his man or makes himself available, he basically doesn't do the hard yards.

I think people are willing him to be good and desperately want him to be, but just because you wish he was doesn't mean you can make an argument that he is.

I've seen every minute he's played for us and he's not arsed so neither am I. Tear up the contract

Painful to watch. You can see why none of them trouble the first team. Too many step overs little drive and midfield congested as Clarke and Robinson were dropping deep too often. Luke Freeman in patches along with Besic showed some application but overall you got the impression they were going through the motions.

At 1-0 you were half expecting Fylde to score, then first team player Basham comes on and we go up a gear only to give away a soft goal. Fylde were poor but worked hard. We didn't work hard.

10.5k Blades turned up and still we don't open the Kop. Most were there for the 250 points and introducing their kids to the Blades experience. With 5 mins to kick off hundreds were still in the queue to pick up their tickets or buy ones for the game. Don't they know our off the field organisation is piss poor. Many would have missed the first goal.

We have to open the Kop if we are at Home in the next round as it was just like watching a pre season friendly.

The disappointment is that the only players who have left with any credit are the ones who were already on the fringes. Besic and L Freeman both did well. Robinson did nothing much bar a neat finish (I give him the most leeway because he's closest to the side and won't be expected to knacker himself out). Jags looked alright for the most part. But, yeah, those are the players making the bench. It's the rest of them that I hoped would make an impression.

I'll ignore players not chasing much or going in for tough challenges. We all know priority one is not getting injured. Bryan still managed to be poor. Getting shrugged off the ball, giving the ball away in bad areas. Whatever promise he might've had...I don't see it. Ravel, I want to see some glimpses of skill and a few nice passing triangles or something, but you're not looking like you'll rival Freeman's spot on the bench any time soon. Clarke, go and make a League One side very happy for another season or two. I could go on but it's basically the same.

Don't take this as surprise or overly critical. The first team have been immense. It's more that there were absolutely no surprises today to make you think, oh, he's looking better than I thought. There's players from previous seasons that need clearing out so we can greatly improve the squad depth for the Premier League.

As a matter of interest, I read your post where you referred to it as pathetic. Is that positive?
