It all depends on how much you penalise players for being injured and how much you consider recency bias.

Norrington-Davies was up for player of the year candidate in my opinion until injury. At least an 8, if not more. He was a colossal competitor and very unfortunate to get injured vs Coventry (I think you said Swansea).

In my opinion, I don’t see Wes as having a better season than Norwood. Norwood carried the midfield for 80% of the season. He’s in many team of the seasons. On your scale, he was a 9 up until he dropped off so perhaps recent bias brings him down but I do think anything below an 8 does him a disservice to how he set the tone early doors; he was in team of the week every week. Wes wasn’t, who you both rated higher.

For Wes, yes the sending offs and possibly the second cost us a tilt at the title, but he also cost a few goals, often by playing the ball to players who had no time e.g. Robbo vs Burnley. For me he was an 8 last year and closer to a 7 or 7.5 this time. I’d be interested to see what DB’s ratings average out at.

Recency bias also a factor with McAtee. He was a 1 or 0 against Luton, let’s be honest and only gave us belief when he played well as sub vs Cardiff. That was already 20 games in. He ended the season extremely well, going from a 6 to a 9 after the break.

Good vid though. Always like this sort of thing. Will you be attempting any videos on how you’d like the squad to be built, players you’d like to see join if you were in charge or are you sticking to the factual rumours etc?

Thank you, yes we will be attempting to do videos on the squad rebuilt and key priority areas.

A fair bit of recency bias in my marks, but I'll explain.
Although points are of the same value throughout the season, there's something to be said for players stepping up at the business end of the season.
I'll never forget David McGoldrick dragging us to numerous victories in the 2019 run-in, he won POTY largely for those exploits.

Ndiaye by far and away our best player.
He'd have had a perfect 10 if he'd hit 20 goals, which I thought he'd manage comfortably around Christmas.
If there's any criticism of his game it's his finishing, but he's improved so fast I doubt it'll be an issue for long.

Anel comes next. Our record without him speaks volumes. To chip in with 7 goals (could have been more) was so crucial. Outstanding signing.

I feel for Norwood, the only one adversely impacted by recency bias.
A lot of neutrals and statistics sites had him as the league's stand out player before he dropped out of the side. It's clear we needed more mobility in there.

McAtee's mark might seem high considering he was a 5/10 up to the World Cup break. I can't ignore how good he was in the run-in though. This season's McGoldrick. Showed what he's about when it mattered most. 9 goals 6 assists. Brilliant return in the end.

Baldock gets an 8 too. His impact was massive when he came in. Mentality monster. When he's on the field you know we're not going to be a soft touch. Brings the best out of Berge too.

Finally, Egan. He's loved here. I've sometimes been critical, but he's done another 40+ game season and been consistently very good in the league's best defence (without all the injuries to various players, we'd have comfortably conceded the least.
He's been so important to us since he joined. Ever present and reliable.

I'll not go through everyone, but anyone scoring less than a 6 probably shouldn't be here again next season in my opinion.
