Barney why doesn't tha change thee name to sir Isaac Walton .Couldn't give a fuck, the point is your taking the piss for him being in the Navy whether he's in it now or was in it before, which is entirely disrespectful but not exactly surprising coming from someone such as yourself.
Barney would love to see Bert take up his piss taking antics at a UK Naval Base.

He's not in the armed forces you clown. He's an ex member of the Navy just like Bert is an ex member of the Boy Scouts.
Pommpey would like to update Bert that he is back in the RN as they jumped at the opportunity to use his skills and experience.

Hang on, Dont we still have one of the biggest budgets in the division?
How do Clough, Adkins et al assemble squads of 40 no mark players on huge wages without the backing of the board?
Such an insane, repetitive pile of bile constantly spewed with literally so substance or foundation other than "hes employed shit managers" - shit managers who for the most part, at the time appointment were well recieved, looked good on paper but just didnt work out... suppose with us doing so well on the pitch that we have to moan about something......
Let's not forget McCabe himself admitted he had taken his eyes off the ball when Clough was buying his mates from Derby. Wasn't the technical board re arranged after their failure of that seasons dealings? Didn't heads roll due to those failings? Like I said gullable.
For anyone that can't be arsed reading the whole thread, that is about top and bottom of it.
Where did I say I couldn't be arsed?Ignore the detailed information from several different posters as you 'can't be arsed'.
Fuck me, it comes right back down to this:
We unnecessarily installed a Desso pitch, and then sold Murphy to pay for it.
Perhaps, just perhaps, it might have been better to keep Murphy or instead of buying a fancy pitch we did not need, buy a few top quality players in much needed positions.
And then we've got mouthpieces like t'owd Sean who never fails to rock up and make a half arsed effort at defending this type of stuff.
For anyone that can't be arsed reading the whole thread, that is about top and bottom of it.
Have you always been disrespectful to the British Armed Forces or is it something you've just taken up recently?
Oh I forgot... The money went to Brussels to his back pocket.![]()
Or maybe we bought Sharp and then sold Murphy to pay for him. Just a thought.
Wasn't that the Murphy money? Oh wait, that paid for the Desso last year. The Adams DCL money will pay for it this year but that still leaves the conundrum of who paid for it when it was announced
Murphy sold August 2015
Sharp signed July 2015
Murphy signs new contract January 2015
Desso pitch announced April 2014.

Seems to fit the timeline a bit better than the pitch does, especially as Sharp was signed at the back end of July (25th). But that would mean that people have to get their heads around the concept that the club might sometimes actually sell players to finance the buying of other players.
So where does Nick "Monty" Montgomery fit into all this?
Where did I say I couldn't be arsed?
Hang on hasn't the budget been cut for Wilder?
Who employed Robson and the string of no marks right down to Clough and Adkins who he allowed to assemble a squad of around 40 no mark players on huge wages for league one?
Well whoopee doo McCabe seems to have found a good manager, anyone can throw a dart at a dartboard and eventually they will hit bullseye.
You will be telling us next the money for Adams and DCL has been ploughed back into the team.
The cheek to say someone comes up with utter bollocks ..............Jesus wept some people are so gullable, seriously.
Plays Sel Bakis bodyguard .
A novel thought but then again Pommpey once calculated ticket income of 8 to 10 million a season ( plus other incone on top) based on an average ticket price of £25 ( :0) so it's no surprise people can't getvtheir heads around such a concept with all that money sloshing around at BL.
Looking at the accounts for 2007, our ticket office income for the premier league season totalled £7.6 million, this fell to £6.1 million the following season, and was down to £4.2 million for the 2010-11 season. I don't know what the figures are for the seasons after that, but it seems unlikely to me that they will be any higher than our premier league season. I would have thought that season represented the highest ever income we have received from gate receipts. Obviously, I don't know this for sure, but it seems a safe bet to me.
Don't fall for Seans bullshit oldblade maybe Sharp was bought to placate an already disgruntled fan base (from the Maguire give away/sale) as the board already knew they were going to once again offload our best player Murphy despite the famous words a few weeks earlier that Murphy was going nowhere, the same Murphy who was very happy to sign a 3yr deal less than 6 month previous. See easy this suggestion game you can never be wrong because as Sean knows he never really says anything at all he is only here to muddy the water or as they say smoke and mirrors, Kev must have trained him, who else would be sad enough to trawl through hundreds of someone's posts to find an irrelevant comment from six month ago.Seems to fit the timeline a bit better than the pitch does, especially as Sharp was signed at the back end of July (25th). Considering that - after stripping out VAT, missing from the calculation and one sixth of the total income - over sixties ST holders pay £7.25 per game, under sixteens less than £2.20 plus the discounted price on ST's game, £25 is a nonsense figure. (Add the fact that season ticket numbers are either 16000 or 17000 depending which is the particular point he's trying to make - both wrong and making his calculation even more incorrect ) it's no wonder the losses seem wrong to him.
Achieving £7m in ticket sales last year or this would be very good but unlikely I'd say.
Plus other than any depreciation charge for the year, the cost of the Desso isn't even charged to Profit and Loss Account.
The latest set of accounts that I can find at Companies House is for the year ending 30th June 2015. I can't find a figure for total ticket sales, but they give a figure for advance ticket sales of less than £2.4 million. Presumably that represents season ticket sales?
metalblade - why should anyone 'muddy the waters' if you don't understand what's going on in the first place?Don't fall for Seans bullshit oldblade maybe Sharp was bought to placate an already disgruntled fan base (from the Maguire give away/sale) as the board already knew they were going to once again offload our best player Murphy despite the famous words a few weeks earlier that Murphy was going nowhere, the same Murphy who was very happy to sign a 3yr deal less than 6 month previous. Lol. My post said "For anyone that can't be arsed"See the quote box. I lifted this (unedited) from your post, unless you have now changed it.
Are you now saying you didn't mean 'cant be arsed' or have been misquoted in some way?
People with more will to live than me, have continued to try and explain their arguements over the 16 pages of this thread. Your 'can't be arsed' line shows total contempt for their efforts, and then you wonder why people line up to mock you.
I remember on the old United messageboard doing the calculation of revenue from that Premier League season. If I remember rightly I think the average ticket price actually paid worked out at something between £11 and £12. I bet it has not increased that much since that time.Considering that - after stripping out VAT, missing from the calculation and one sixth of the total income - over sixties ST holders pay £7.25 per game, under sixteens less than £2.20 plus the discounted price on ST's game, £25 is a nonsense figure.
