Bet he's got a face like thunder at this moment in time. I hope he gets a good deal from a local-ish club and bangs the goals in for them, unless it's the pigs.

The time for sentimentality is gone. Billy has been fucking brilliant for United in three spells at the club. But he aint gonna scratch the surface next season. We need a replacement and I thought that Maupay would be that signing when I saw him for Brentford v us before promotion the first time under Wilder.

We signed McPub.

As sad as it will be to see him go (or stop playing) common sense dictates that he shouldn't really be involved in a PL squad at this stage of his career.

Proper Blades legend and wish him the very best if he leaves.

Only found out the other day that my wife knows his neighbour. They can't speak highly enough of him and some of things he's offered to do (time and effort stuff not financial).

Top fella.

If true I can him imagine him not wanting to move far away.

Surely Rotherham would be a great place for him to go?

Of maybe he could follow Didsy to Derby County.

The same Mcburnie that’s scored 15 goals this season…

Still plenty of life left in the old dog yet. Deserves to still be playing. Get him reunited with Didzy at Derby or get him tearing L2 a new one with Bradford or Donny.

It's been emotional, Billy!

Hasn't scored since before Christmas and has had some golden chances to bag his 250 with us but it probably is time for him to move on if he isn't staying on as a coach.

My heart says I'd like him to stay but my head says no as he won't get the games or score the goals we need. He didn't really score many last time round in the PL.

I will miss him though. :(

It’s the right decision, if we’re taking sentiment out of it. Ideal scenario now is he hangs up his boots and joins the coaching staff. Would love for him to still be in and around the club. Been a huge part of our success and the reason why we are where we are, which often gets overlooked.

I’d hope if Sharp hasn’t been offered a deal, neither have Fleck and Stevens, who are even less effective.

At least my littl'un will be able to tell future generations he saw Sharp play for us. Think it is time to let him move on though. Big pressure on whoever wears that no 10 next season.

As disappointing as it will be for him, I really hope he takes it in the right manner and doesn't leave under too big a cloud.
I want him exit with a positive attitude towards the club and fans because we feel nothing but love towards him.
A man who has lived out every Blades fans' fantasy and we have had taken vicarious pleasure and pride in watching his performances in the red and white.
A true legend.

Think it's fair to use the words Blades Legend about Billy. Legend is used to describe any pathetic achievement nowadays and is totally devalued but in Billys' case I think it's appropriate.
Thanks for countless brilliant memories Billy and may whatever you do next be hugely successful and enjoyable.
Staue in the car park?
