Props to him for how much he’s developed since that Forest game where he was the furthest thing from ready.

I’d even go back to the Gillingham game where I was like hmm he’s really not doing it for me… that paired with his loan spells where he’s never pulled up any trees, I was ready to cut our losses.

But in pre season and his two appearances so far he’s looked really sharp, determined and confident. He’s got ability in abundance but I was always thinking in the back of my mind he’s not got it mentally, just seemed a bit nesh. That’s gone 180 as he’s been aggressive and on the front foot constantly.

It’s two games. But it’s a positive two games. Extremely unlucky to get injured last night and I look forward to seeing him back again and really giving Gilchrist a run for his money at RB.

Completely agree. While you can’t overreact to one game, evidence from games will gradually build and yesterday’s one was very much about the potential of Seriki and some doubts over Gilchrist’s ability at right back. Like I say, no need to overreact. But I said in a different thread that I always had doubts about Gilchrist effectively learning a new position on the job and that massively showed up last night. It’s easy to think that he’ll just be a more defensive right back but his positional sense when defending was just as bad as when we had the ball. Hopefully it was just a one-off bad night and/or a learning experience. But hopefully Seriki continues building as well and the injury isn’t too bad. At the very least we will need a very good back-up option there.

He’ll be a great sub to run at tiring teams in the last 20 minutes.

He looked great last night. Made 3 decent runs right in front of us on John street, first of them got into a great position in box to pull it back. Looking forward to seeing more of him. Hope his injury not too bad.

Did well against a league one sides second string. Unlike most the other kids he actually has championship experience but hardly stood out in a bad Rotherham side.

Not exactly going to get carried away but a good 29 minutes or so

What does Props mean ?

Yes i agree he was the best player on the pitch and caused them so real problems until that injury . Hope it is not to serious .

Shortened version of "propers," which was itself a shortened version of "proper respect." Comes from 1980s-90s American rap music.
Do we have to welcome every thing from across the Atlantic ? Most of it is usually rap sorry i ment crap . Crap means shit (that comes from attercliffe)

Props? I thought it was a really old term. I definitely didn't expect it to be American slang

To be honest I'm not confident whatsoever about having Gilchrist and Seriki as our right backs for the season. Both have shown glimpses of their potential but neither are anything like proven at this level.

If you think we had Baldock and Bogle there for the last couple of years then it's a massive backwards step.

Not a fan of potatoes, I take it. Or tomatoes?

The Wilder effect.

Shackleton's cameo yesterday has given me more confidence about cover for RB. He certainly looked comfortable once he had a few minutes to get up to pace with the game.

Of course he may need to cover CM too, so we do need Siriki back asap. His pace and strength could be a real weapon this season.

yes shackleton looked very useful yesterday but ive high hopes for seriki as well looks like hes bulked up to me if only we had same options at the top of the pitch

Why is Nick Montshackleton getting so much game time over Seriki then?

I do not get it.

Wilder went double-condom for a tug last night so Seriki was never going to feature.

I'm not going to write off Shackleton yet, it's way too premature, but I'm getting the sense that he's a right footed equivalent of Ben Osborn.

That’s exactly how I feel

We had a back 5 and Souza basically patrolling. Surely we could’ve done with someone who can get up and down the wing and help out going forward rather than someone who literally can’t do anything particularly.
