Seasons since WW2 when Blades were in top 6 of old 1st division in November

Today is the first time we we did it in our PL history

1963-64 - We were at top place from 1/11 until our 3-1 defeat at Fulham on 23/11 which dropped us to 5th place.

1965-65 - 4th place on 1/11 but dropped to 7th after 6-2 defeat at Arsenal on 6/11 then up to 5th on 13/11 after beating Everton and still 5th on 27/11.

1971-72 - 5th on 1/11 , 4th on 13/11, 5th on 20/11 and 4th on 27/11

1974-75 - 6th on 9/11 (first time in top 6 since morning of 5/10), 5th on 16/11 then dropped our of top 6 on 30/11 after losing 1-0 to Spurs.

We finished 5th in 1946/47 and 5th in 1961/62 but were not in top 6 in November.

Thanks Pete, we were talking earlier about whether any of us had seen us so high. My first matches were in 74-75 so you’ve answered that.

The 1946/47 season was the one extended into June to complete fixtures postponed in the hard winter. I was born on the day of the 5th match from the end of the season (Preston, 2-3 home defeat, story of my life!), and United lost the next 2 games. So by the time I was 1 week old, United had played 3, lost 3. I am beginning to think I may have been responsible for our failure to win the League that year...
