Suppose the season ended tomorrow with remaining fixtures to not be played, would you ask for a pro-rated refund of the home games unplayed?

I wouldn't out of affinity to the club. I'm a supporter first, not a customer. But people who spend large sums on family tickets may feel differently.

No. I'm very lucky, though, as I can afford to just 'write it off'. Some will think differently, and that is perfectly ok as far as I'm concerned.

From my point of view, I think the club has been fantastic, not just on the field, but off it too, in terms of offering us Premier League football for about £19 a match.

They deserve our support at this unprecedented time.

It's an even more interesting question if you got your season tickets on finance (either credit card or through a finance company), as the finance company will have Section 75 joint liability.

I suspect those not especially keen on clawing money back from the club might have a different view of claiming money back from a bank?

I was wondering that about credit card purchase too. If the season finishes early, I've not got what I paid for

Personally I would. By law, we are obliged to a refund. We are paying for the season 2019/20, if that gets written off and voided as if it never happened, why should be pay to watch a game that will not count towards anything? Slag me off all you want but that’s the truth. I’m a supporter, and a hard worker and I choose where my finances go. We can’t pay for something we are not getting so why shouldn’t we get a refund?

As season ticket holders, me and my son get into a home match for around £24. That's for both of us, not each. And that's for PL footy.
He's a student, I'm a 60 something year old.
Wouldn't expect a refund. It will all come out in the wash.

Not sure you should put your season ticket in the wash. 😄

But it did happen, and you did watch it. I can understand people wanting a refund for games say cancelled of the remaining, but I don’t think fans can really ask for a refund of games they’ve seen and enjoyed just because it’s voided. If that happened the club would be within it’s right to whack you in the head till you’ve forgotten the games you watched for free, in order to void your memories.

I'd expect them to either:

a) automatically send back the relevant percentage, or
b) put that as a discount to next season's, whenever that is

If a), not sure what I'd do with it. Probably half to charity, half to Peroni stockpiling

6 month on charge back? Used to be, I've been out of the banking business for 20 years, through choice, not age. :) Nick (that'd be over 30 :D )

Around £23 a game on a ST in the south? 4 home games left. I would like some form of compensation of course, ideally just reduce next seasons ST.
All this should be covered in the finance package with the PL if we did just write this season off. I can’t see us cancelling the season though.

I'm not a season ticket holder, but I'm stunned that you think it wouldn't be right to get a refund. You aren't donating to a charity, the players earn millions.

Very good point but I don't see how the players salaries directly entitles us to a refund?

I'd like to think a good % of the fans would be supporters and not consumers. It would be good faith by the club to repay that by freezing what is already a highly competitive ticket price for a very entertaining Premier League team.

No but I would expect the club to do a prize freeze and keep season ticket renewals at the same price or maybe a bit less for next season.
Good sensible idea, I'd go along with same price as a gesture of goodwill. If not I will be seeking a refund for the remaining games if they are cancelled. It's only right like it's only right the season is concluded, whatever it takes.

This is section 4 in ST T&Cs

No guarantees can be given by the Club that a Match will take place at a particular time or on a particular date.
The Club reserves the right to reschedule any Match without notice and without any liability whatsoever.
Your Season Ticket will enable you to attend the re-arranged Match.
The Club will have no further liability whatsoever, including (but not limited to) any direct or consequential loss or damage, loss of enjoyment or travel costs.
The purchase of a Season Ticket is a commitment to all home league matches and no refunds under any circumstances will be given.

IF the remain season is declared void,
I'd not expect a refund, but I would expect a significant reduction in next season's prices for renewals only.
I would definitely want my Arsenal ticket refunded.

From the OS
"All match tickets and hospitality packages for the Emirates FA Cup tie against Arsenal will remain valid for the rearranged fixture, as will tickets for the Premier League game against Newcastle United at St James' Park. Until the two postponed fixtures are rescheduled, supporters are advised that refunds will not be available, with tickets for the last eight clash against the Gunners now temporarily off sale. "

It sounds as if there will be refunds once the new date is announced

540 days from expected date of delivery or provision of service on a "Goods/services not received" code - you might be able to use this if you paid on debit card. You would probably have to show that the club hadn't attempted to resolve the situation with you to your satisfaction.

Section 75 has other specific coverage under the CCA. In not sure what the time limit is on that, but I'd be surprised if something that wasn't fully delivered isn't covered, at least in theory.

I wouldn't expect a refund but I fully expect the season to be finished eventually, even if a few games are behind closed doors initially.

Football fans are asking for refunds from Sky/BT due to no live sport being broadcast. Is that ok?

It’s basically asking for a refund from United via Sky/BT.

BT & Sky are faceless corporations that I wouldn't feel embarrassed about short changing.

I'm not a Sheffield United customer. I am a Sheffield United supporter.
