Anything could still happen of course, but if we can't sort Barnsley out then you have to be a believer in miracles to think we can go up this year. It's been a damned good effort and I'd love to see Wilder get them motivated for a final push, but I think the belief must be ebbing out of the team now.

I think we saw that yesterday. I said after the Cardiff game that we would either go and paste Barnsley or that history would repeat itself, i.e we would chuck away a winning position again. The only thing I would say about Barnsley is that [imo] they played far better than Cardiff who just seemed to grind along at 0-1 waiting for their 1 chance. Barnsley really went for it when we took the lead and it was a much more balanced contest.

In any case I hope the players can hold their nerve and that a vocal lane will lift their spirits for 2 huge games. I still think we can win them, partly because we are firmly back in the underdog corner based on recent form and on balance we are still playing well. As Chris says, it's what's happening in both boxes that has let us down.

One last chance now, no point giving up yet. I wonder how the Bristol City players feel? As they are in worse form for us. I suspect they haven't chucked the towel in yet.
