Away at Rochdale, Bradford and Bolton with one home game against Millwall

Win the game in hand and it's time to get rrrrrrrighht up their arse in time for January

UTB

Lets just concentrate on ourselves for now, lets look at everyone else in march when we're 10 points clear at the top

In all fairness, we should be right up their arse now, shame about the last minute goal today.

9 points for Scunny there. Will only lose to Bolton.

All the teams at the top with have tough runs, drop points against poor sides and suffer from injuries to key players. Its only November. Pretty sure Wigan weren't even in the play off places at this point last season. Just a few months ago we were below Port Vale and Bury

Yeah i think scunny will keep picking up results. the nucleus of the side has been there for a few years. However bolton are not even conceding and won 10/12. like we may lose eel; they may lose clough though. utd have 4/5 at home now and a woeful cov away. Be disappointed if we are not top by new year to be honest

Scunthorpe are the best team in the league.

There's nothing which suggests they'll falter no matter who they're playing.

My prediction is Blades, Scunny and Bolton will all break the 90 points barrier this season.

Could come down to the head to head fixtures to decide the finishing order.

Coventry were top this time last season, Gillingham second.

The promoted teams
Wigan were 4th
Burton were 5th
Barnsley were 21st

And that demonstrates the play offs danger, a side charges in to them late on in outstanding form and snatches the promotion place for the team who finish third.

This is really negative of me I suppose, but I'd take going up in second place.

We have Walsall, Swindon, Northampton, Oldham at home and Cov/Bury away up to turn of new year. All winnable but...

Bolton have some real easy ones...Gillingham home (we play twice before they next play though), Shrewbury home, Chesterfiield away and Cov away with just one really hard one, Scunny away.

Bradford have a lot of home games too and play some siimilia teams to us but do play Scunny also in the run.

I would hope/expect Scunny to drop a few points and it be really tight by early January

Yeh I outlined this run of fixtures for Scunny in December a little while ago - certainly looks like a huge month for them with 4 tough games.

Looking at the overall strength of the squads, would expect Bolton to be the main threat Over 46 games. Here's hoping Zac Clough gets nabbed in January.

The daft thing is that we are all hoping that Scunny slip up against Bradford and Bolton yet it wouldn't do us any harm at all if they beat both of them, provided we keep winning. We could then have clear water between us in 2nd and them in 3rd and 4th.

As said above Bolton in particular could be far more of a threat over the full season as they will have more resources to strengthen in January and more depth overall. Bradford have slipped up a couple of times recently and are probably the most likely to fall away from the top 4.

I tend to agree mate. The key for us is promotion, and whether we're first or second, we must make sure that we're in either of those positions. I know this sentiment will disappoint some, but to be honest, I couldn't care less about being champions of Div 1, all I hope for is for us to step up and win promotion.

It really would be a MASSIVE help if Scunny could start to falter.

Because as I predicted from the start, Bolton won't be going anywhere due to that defence, it's easily the best in the league. And outside of Scunny and Bolton, I don't think anyone else will challenge us for the top two - so if one of them was removed from the situation I'd be infinitely more confident about our chances.

Losing Clough could hurt Bolton though.

Drawing at home to a dreadful Oxford team IS starting to falter I think.

They did similar the other month at home to Northampton - 1-1.

The stats look good for Oxford though...

Although they are below them currently I think Northampton are are a better outfit than Oxford.

If we fail to beat Walsall on Tuesday that would be an equivalent of Scunnys wobble today, but I think we will beat Walsall.

The scrap I foresee during the second half of the season is us and Scunny for second place, a bit similar to 2012 when we were fighting Wednesday for the second spot behind Charlton.

Alexander said it was a point gained for Scunny as Oxford were the better side

No way were Wigan ahead of Burton.
A simple wiki of both sides seasons will prove this.

What's the betting the Football Gods allow Robinson to qualify them for the playoffs by 'one point' and then they deny us in the play offs?
