Scougs

It never happened for him after his initial great start but he was one player who , whether good enough or not, you could always rely on to give his all. You couldn't say that about all the players we have had over the past 6 years.

His goal against Hull was one of my favourite moments as a Blade.

Does anyone at all agree with me that perhaps the Championship might actually suit Scougall more than League One?

This league is (typically-speaking) full of big horrible cunts with very little football played on the ground.

Don't know but I bet Wilder does.

Maybe what suits him best is the hard working, counter attacking game that Clough played in hos first season. Scougs' ability to cover ground, chase and burst forward when we won the ball worked really well.

For some reason his first touch seems to have become worse, and he has struggled more when playing against teams defending deep, which gradually became the norm this season.

I think it's vital for his career that he now picks a club playing in a way that suits him and a manager that is really keen on him.

I like Scougs, a grafter, I thought he did well at Fleetwood on loan, wasn't there rumour they would take him this year.

Hardly a "shocking footballer". Don't be silly.

Sure, he's not part of what we need to do to go forward as a club but in the early part of the season when he was (kind of) playing he put in some decent performances. And not to forget he was excellent when Clough brought him in - I nearly broke my leg falling down two rows of seats when he scored at Wembley.
I don't think O'Shea is any better than him if I'm honest. A different type of player yes, but better? No.
A decent player who will thrive somewhere. I agree that it is not to be with us.

I still want it to be with us though, I hate paying over the odds for a player, having just let one go. Only for the one we let go to then flourish elsewhere. I've always believed that there's a player in there in Scougs, ideally a number 10 role I think.

Scougs has had long enough to break into the first team. It is a shame, but if we want to watch a more competitive team in the championship we have to move on . Bigger, faster, stronger and more consistent players. In hospitals they call folk bed blockers. We have a few place blockers. Not quite good enough to break into the match day team. Stopping us using that part of the budget on better options.chris and his team will sort it out. Goodbye Scougs, good luck. There will be a cull of players next week or so. Some will be a surprise, some won't. Onwards and upwards .

Some people use that phrase when what they mean is they've no time for gratitude or class. Scougall will almost certainly leave, but with most people's fond memories and gratitude for the good moments.

Completely agree. Expect that attitude from the Grunters.

Scougs was one of few in the poor team that actually gave his all. He put in some great performances under Clough and scored a cracking goal at Wembley. He's a good lad as well.

He goes with my best wishes if he leaves and I'll give him a good hand if he ever comes back.

When I think of the warm reception and fond affection people still have for Derek Geary for the way he put 100% of his potential into his game, I imagine how he would be viewed if he was in our squad now.

"Fuck him, he's a shortarse with shit knees" most likely.

I'm not sure if it's this clubs supporters or humanity in general that's gradually degenerating into scum, but it's certainly happening.

Disappointing that we'll be losing both Scougall and McNulty on free transfers. Both looked like they'd be assets at some point.

They should both go back to Scotland, maybe the 2nd division, look like Silva and Aguero for a season then take the money in England again.

Scougs had a decent run in the side, earlier in the season and scored a few. You can't knock his effort, however as others have said he won't feature next season, so it's best for us and him if he moves on. Hope he finds somewhere decent, as he seems a nice lad.

Scougall has the ability and the enthusiasm but unfortunately he will never possess the size and strength to handle this level of football. Shame really.
and his head's too big for his body.

Really cant get my head round this after you have abused half our first team this season ,'shortarse with shit knees' doesn't come close to the abuse you have given to OConnell ,EEL ,Coutts ,McNulty ,Clarke ,Adams and probably others I don't remember.

Only opinions about him as a footballer not as a person.
Really rated Geary btw.

And you seemingly can't get your head around the seven or so times I've put you right on that point. Please pay more attention.

I'm sure that as you swig the thousand pound brandy and chug away on the cigar as you lay back on the terrace of your Caribbean getaway it's tough to understand that the rest of us need the odd highlight.

Half-time at Wembley is one of the maddest, happiest moments of being a blade I've had in 35 years of watching. It was fleeting and it ultimately amounted to fuck all. But please don't tell me it didn't feel good and isn't worth remembering fondly.
And the last minute, when that 5th goal went in, is one of my all time great memories.

The way the support came together to acknowledge the success of the team was unbelievable.

And yes it was a success, the team played well above the sum of it's parts and every Blade that was there that day should be enshrined in Blades folklore, players and fans alike (except for the knobs that were fighting amongst em selves)

We'll probably release him, he'll end up at Burton and then go about tearing us a new arsehole when we play them next season.

ITK ;)
