8 million in the championship for non parachute sides is huge money.

Essentially only a premier league ready player is worth that. He isn't that. If it wasn't for our financial situation/other sales I would be happy with what we got for him if we had suitably replaced him.

Now he's not ours I suspect saying he isn't premier league quality won't get some peoples knickers in a twist.

It seems the fan base is split on whether to blame the manager or the Director of Football, and it looks as if they’re not getting along. Brooks has been substituted in the last 2 games and on both occasions has gone straight down the tunnel. He seems not to be in a happy place.

It does seem odd after they did so well at the end of last season after Clement came in, and then they strengthened over the summer. Their fans seem to be of the view that too much money was spent on Brooks, leaving insufficient funds to strengthen in other, more critical areas. That places a lot of pressure on Brooks, particularly given his age.

Not a happy place then by what you are saying,In my eyes Brooks was sold for the going rate,potential is great but football fans are impatient. I’m sure they will click and go on a run.

I actually think with 1 or 2 smart signings in Jan we could make 8th. The ingredients are there. Maybe a bit of pace up front is what I’d be looking for, we seem to get beyond the back line and have to turn back a lot.

There lies the problem,smart signings. McGuinness-benched,Donavan-benched,Riedewald-WTF, Cannon and a disabled Campbell,BBD,i could go on. Hopefully you are right. It’s an awful division bar 2-3,there is always hope,we have beaten 2 shocking sides but they still have to be beaten.

Brooks was good for us and I do miss him, but he's still developing as a player. I don't think he's worth anywhere near what they spent on him.

I don't get much joy out of that... and I don't think it proves much. He clearly had the potential to be a player that might get 20 G/A in a Championship season. I still think he has that in his locker.

I don't think we got a bad price for him, particularly considering his contract situation... but I also think a different manager would've got much more out of him and that would've been of greater benefit to the club (either on, or off the field... or both).

But, let's forget all that... Rak-Sakyi, a player with much better output, was available for less than half the price. And we passed.
I'm convinced that was a big mistake.

Rak Sakyi though is now on loan in Turkey. After a loan at Stoke. Think he hadn't progressed as hoped.

Think this is quite close to the truth for me. I liked him. I'd love him instead of Chong consistently. Imagine Brooks on one side and Donovan other.

But there is no guarantee that he will progress further than a good championship winger. The evidence isn't there to back that claim up. So 8-10m ain't bad when we need to raise funds.

8-10 million to Norwich is daylight robbery. We can get someone way better than Brooks for that price. There’s free agents out there being released from good Premier League clubs who would do better on a free transfer.

Please just relax and see the other side to it. Have a beer in the sun man. Fuck me.

Although he had some good moments, Rak-Sakyi really did flatter to deceive and it seems that were not the only club that thinks this. IMO, Donovan is proving himself to be more than capable of filling the boots left by Brook and although it’s a loan, passing on JRS is looking a fine option right now.

JRS is currently plying his trade in the Turkish premier league, managing about half the games for a middling Kasimpaşa with 1 goal & 1 assist.
