McCabe wil be around for the time being, as stated in the article and there now seems more chance that the move will result in those plans that were posted earlier in the week, coming to fruition.

Regarding investment, am I wrong in saying that the Chinese investment rumoured for some time has links with the guy building New Era Square at the end of Bramall Lane (Jerry Yeung?)? I think if we are to go down the foreign investor route, which seems necessary, I'd prefer it to be someone like those who already has a great knowledge of Sheffield and vested interest in the city.

Jones Day are lawyers, so likely to be acting as an agent for the Prince or someone else ? Yusuf is Italian apparently.

The allotment o shares was for£5.2m (which I mentioned last month) not £33m. That's the issued share capital at this time.

Something big going on me thinks, might explain the transfer window sluggishness.

My default reaction to the McCabe's potentially exiting stage left isn't positive.
For all the grumbles on here, KM made what he believed were the best decisions for the club at the time and put significant funding and time into the club.
I actually liked having a McCabe on the board so the fans had one of their own in there.
Whoever comes in next has a lot to deliver to match what the McCabes have done, and I wouldn't be too giddy for us to go chasing the money. I just hope we get someone who has the club as much at heart as the ones walking out the door, even if we have to put up with some of the odd decisions.

It is significant. Anyone on here who knows anything about running a corporate business will immediately see that. You don't make changes like that for no good reason and the most obvious answer is that it has been done to pave the way for an influx of money, but that usually comes with a handing over of control, to some extent.

It's o.k. it was always going to happen sometime. I thought we'd sell out to a Chinese consortium due to McCabe's business interests there, in fact I've predicted that for some time, but maybe I'm wrong about the nationality then. Either way, you can be pretty sure that we will be under foreign ownership sooner rather than later. Whether that's a good thing or not we'll have to wait and see. But we know what story they are going to tell us already don't we?

I think it would be somewhat appropriate for McCabe's exit to be as a result of a head-turning offer he couldn't refuse from the upper echelons of foreign investment. This will be followed by McCabe being unavailable for comment to the rumoured buy-out due to "health grounds", the deal then completed within the week. It will conclude with the Prince making a comment of "Hey, when the Chinese come calling..."

Didn't you know the Prince has been eating loads of tuna recently?

Merger with the S6 massive to create 'Sheffield Steelmen Rangers' and a move to a new site by Doncaster airport.

The new kit obviously cant be red or blue stripes, so a nice green and yellow design which are lucky colours in Thailand and Saudi.

Loads of money to spend on committed new signings like Tevez, Adeybayore and Yaya Toure.

This is slightly worrying, but explains McCabe's comment about investment in January (which seemed incongruous at the time).

It sounds like McCabe's stepping back in terms of running the club. I'm guessing had he got what he wanted (Chinese investment) this would not be the case. There could be interesting times ahead. I'm not sure these new investors and Wilder will be on the same page. We can only really wait and see.

The resignations of the sons means nothing. Kevin McCabe Hasnt been a director of the football club for awhile for example.

There may well be something happening but unless there is a transfer of shares its business as usual.

As for the significance, there have been loads of similar boardroom changes, the owners apart, of people without shares. No one wet their pants a month ago for example.

Maybe Scarborough are seeing an upturn and as the vehicle that underwrites McCabes share of funding the club the family are concentrating on something that makes them money. Who knows.

Anyone who has experience of running a corporate business would keep their powder dry, maybe speculate a little but not claim they were right without even knowing the current share holdings after the last cash input. In there was a buy out of any kind director resignations could be done then.

Neither were involved in the day to day running of the club and have been replaced with other McCabe men, just like the Prince has his men on board.
