"The McCabe Family has been deeply involved with the Blades since the 1990s, during which time it has invested more than £100m directly into the Football Club and in acquiring, developing, extending or improving the facilities utilised by SUFC at or around the iconic Bramall Lane Stadium, Shirecliffe Academy and the Junior Development Centre at Crookes."

No ambition.

McCabe out.

All this moralising about Saudi investment makes me feel like I did about Ched Evans resigning.

At first, I could see the point of the moralisers, and didn't think it was the right thing to do.

A few days later. After sleeping on it, I realised that if he scored 30 goals and fired us to the Prem the next season, I'd probably get over it.

There's plenty of dirty money kicking around football.

When tufty wins the Prem with us, beating man city (with equally dubious morals) on the last day of the Prem season

You will all probably get over it.

Since when did our owners come out & say they backed stoning women & terrorism.

fuck off you clown.
The Prince is a member of the Saudi royal family. "The politics of Saudi Arabia takes place in the context of an absolute monarchy with some Islamic lines, where the King is both the head of state and government. Decisions are, to a large extent, made on the basis of consultation among the senior princes of the royal family and the religious establishment."
Pick up a book once in a while you fucking Muppet. ;)

While I am at it, as I am, obviously (big night out, in now, don't want to go to bed, nowt better to do than

Anyway

I've seen

The future.

The only "Fuck me, he's definitely going to play for England" moment I've had watching the blades was Kyle Walker.

I've got a "Fuck me, he's going to manage england" feeling just now.

Help

McCabe wil be around for the time being, as stated in the article and there now seems more chance that the move will result in those plans that were posted earlier in the week, coming to fruition.

Regarding investment, am I wrong in saying that the Chinese investment rumoured for some time has links with the guy building New Era Square at the end of Bramall Lane (Jerry Yeung?)? I think if we are to go down the foreign investor route, which seems necessary, I'd prefer it to be someone like those who already has a great knowledge of Sheffield and vested interest in the city.

Perhaps we could pretend that we've got some sponsorship from other Arab friends of the Princes family?
What about Qatari Airways?

Qatar Airways are about as far from friends with the Saudis as you can get at the moment.

What I t I think is that the McCabe's are going to hold on to the property assets ,you saw the plans last week ,develope the lane and get a better return off our Saudi friends .win win all round

What plans? Weren't they just a re hash of plans we've seen previously?

No mate. The new ones have seen a lot of work going in to maximise income by removing that green rectangle in the middle....

McCabe is a prat and he has no business sense at all, whatsoever, in a football transfer market, but he's our prat. He's kept us in Red and White stripes and kept us at Bramall Lane. They're an absolute must.

The allotment of shares to the tune of £33M is interesting, filed by Jones Day, unless they are the purchasers ?

Jones Day are lawyers, so likely to be acting as an agent for the Prince or someone else ? Yusuf is Italian apparently.

Has he bought Kev's share ?

The allotment o shares was for£5.2m (which I mentioned last month) not £33m. That's the issued share capital at this time.

Having slept on this, I'm a bit surprised that the Saudis look to be strengthening their position and there is no Chinese involvement.

What with the Hualing link and the local Chinatown property development, I thought KM might have got a few new bezzie Oriental chums.

The one thing I do know is that there will be 'happenings' behind this that we do not remotely understand yet.

Probably best to concentrate on the Mackems today. Try not to worry that Sharia street stonings for women wearing lipstick, will be introduced at S2 imminently.

The sooner the Saudi connection is removed the better. MaCabe was behind bringing them on board so hope they both go and are replaced by ambitious owners that don't stone women and back terrorism.

You've just excluded most of Asia with that comment.

Could be significant all this lot, Kevin stepping down as a director (top bloke) and I'll wait for the accountant cavalry to arrive but might be that someone else has bought £5m of new shares and the £33m is just a statement of total shares. Something big going on me thinks, might explain the transfer window sluggishness.

Kevin McCabe hasn't been a director of the football club for while.

Your comments on the share allotment are correct.

My default reaction to the McCabe's potentially exiting stage left isn't positive.
For all the grumbles on here, KM made what he believed were the best decisions for the club at the time and put significant funding and time into the club.
I actually liked having a McCabe on the board so the fans had one of their own in there.
Whoever comes in next has a lot to deliver to match what the McCabes have done, and I wouldn't be too giddy for us to go chasing the money. I just hope we get someone who has the club as much at heart as the ones walking out the door, even if we have to put up with some of the odd decisions.

Damn right. As with most things, we'll miss him when he's gone. Football is chock-full of Chansiris who value the balance sheet rather than local ties and traditions. Wthout Mr. McCabe's time and money down the years, we might not still be around as a club.

Don't be so sure

Tutton specialising in mergers and disposals brought in on behalf of the McCabes and Yusuf Giansiracusa brought in by the Prince who specialises in mergers and acquisitions might suggest otherwise

Might take some time, but I suspect there's more to this than meets the eye

Tutton has been a director since 2013.

I reckon we can make 100 pages if we post enough boobs.

giphy.gif
Who is she and is she on porn hub? We need answers people, sometimes football has to take a back seat to the really important things in life;)

grafikhaus a shame I can only give that one like.

Football is chock-full of Chansiris who value the balance sheet rather than local ties and traditions.

Spot on. 'Chancer' by name and chancer by deed, I'm sure.

In the same way that their great hero god Mandric 'loved Wednesday' but still managed to make a few bob, I'm sure the Dolphin killer was not born with a mission in life to assist the S6 massive back to greatness.

Wthout Mr. McCabe's time and money down the years, we might not still be around as a club.

Careful with that kind of mutinous talk on here. We all know McCabe=Bad and Anyotherbugger=good.

I totally agree. There's definitely something in this. When I responded earlier with the comments, "it's just the start of a sell-out to a foreign consortium - that's all", I wasn't joking.

It is significant. Anyone on here who knows anything about running a corporate business will immediately see that. You don't make changes like that for no good reason and the most obvious answer is that it has been done to pave the way for an influx of money, but that usually comes with a handing over of control, to some extent.

It's o.k. it was always going to happen sometime. I thought we'd sell out to a Chinese consortium due to McCabe's business interests there, in fact I've predicted that for some time, but maybe I'm wrong about the nationality then. Either way, you can be pretty sure that we will be under foreign ownership sooner rather than later. Whether that's a good thing or not we'll have to wait and see. But we know what story they are going to tell us already don't we?

Here, I've written McCabe's handover speech for him to save him some time:

"In order to compete at the highest level, new levels of funding are required. Through our associations with his Royal Highness the 37th Prince of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Bin this, Bin that and Bin the other, we've secured a deal that will transform Sheffield United Football Club into one of this country's leading clubs. I personally know and trust these Sandmen and they are all Unitedites like we are. We are putting the club in safe hands. HEY! There's no bigger Blades than them!

I think it would be somewhat appropriate for McCabe's exit to be as a result of a head-turning offer he couldn't refuse from the upper echelons of foreign investment. This will be followed by McCabe being unavailable for comment to the rumoured buy-out due to "health grounds", the deal then completed within the week. It will conclude with the Prince making a comment of "Hey, when the Chinese come calling..."

The appointment of Mr Yusuf Giansiracusa as a director is interesting. A Saudi lawyer with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. Maybe it's just Princes best pal... buuut....
Acquisitions you say, mmmmm , are we buying the pigs out and shutting them down forever mwaa ha ha !

you forget to add at the end of the handover speech "think Liverpool not...................." ;)

Didn't you know the Prince has been eating loads of tuna recently?

Merger with the S6 massive to create 'Sheffield Steelmen Rangers' and a move to a new site by Doncaster airport.

The new kit obviously cant be red or blue stripes, so a nice green and yellow design which are lucky colours in Thailand and Saudi.

Loads of money to spend on committed new signings like Tevez, Adeybayore and Yaya Toure.

This is slightly worrying, but explains McCabe's comment about investment in January (which seemed incongruous at the time).

It sounds like McCabe's stepping back in terms of running the club. I'm guessing had he got what he wanted (Chinese investment) this would not be the case. There could be interesting times ahead. I'm not sure these new investors and Wilder will be on the same page. We can only really wait and see.

The resignations of the sons means nothing. Kevin McCabe Hasnt been a director of the football club for awhile for example.

There may well be something happening but unless there is a transfer of shares its business as usual.

As for the significance, there have been loads of similar boardroom changes, the owners apart, of people without shares. No one wet their pants a month ago for example.

Maybe Scarborough are seeing an upturn and as the vehicle that underwrites McCabes share of funding the club the family are concentrating on something that makes them money. Who knows.

Anyone who has experience of running a corporate business would keep their powder dry, maybe speculate a little but not claim they were right without even knowing the current share holdings after the last cash input. In there was a buy out of any kind director resignations could be done then.

Neither were involved in the day to day running of the club and have been replaced with other McCabe men, just like the Prince has his men on board.
