its a weird one. because this happens to footballers can be fantastic for club & terrible for their country. we only have to look at Gerrard Lampard Rooney Carragher. if they played like they did for their clubs & not the rubbish they did for england that wouldn't have got them in Accrington Stanley team. we wouldn't have struggled past Trinidad and Tobago & Ecuador. then not qualifying for the 2008 euros

this is just because the team is poor & not at level of the big top or 2nd seed nations. Scotland were in danger of relegation to bottom nations league. if they hadnt won either final 2. but also i was looking at like england has overseas talent scuppered that national team. it is interesting back in 2012 the Celtic side out of 30+ players only had 4 Scottish players that played 20+ games (LB CM & 2 Strikers) & even last Sunday only 3 available for national squad started all midfielders only 1 finished 90 mins

Growing up I liked Celtic because some relative of my Grandad played for them briefly many years ago.

In later years I avoid both and prefer some of the smaller clubs like QoS and Clyde. Met fans of both and found them spot on and similar to ourselves in outlook.

To be fair our John wasn't great, most of the game appeared to pass him by......but he was playing a lot deeper than he does for SUFC and therefore prevented from making those bursting runs he often does for us.
