To be fair it’s tricky to give a fair/ accurate assessment on Kalvin.

Thought he was very good in the Championship and was OK/ decent in the PL.
He surprisingly gets called up for England and plays a defensive midfielder destroyer/ spoiler role really well.
Basically he’s like Nick Montgomery (remember him) but with better passing ability.

Southgate loved him….he set his team up very negatively with 2 defensive midfielders
And to be fair KP excelled for a few games at England international level….but all he did was win the ball and make a simple short pass to a team mate. Was really surprised Pep at Man City bought him because KP was good…..but never Man City good.

Feel a bit sorry for him….its like Real Madrid coming in for Sereki offering him £200K a week then he hardly ever plays again for a few years.
So altho I don’t massively rate KP I do admit he’s probably average PL level and can still do a job there.
So a bit like what we see when Tom Davies plays….its a very good signing and I expect his class to stand out at the lower Championship level.

My only concern is they keep mentioning his poor injury record….so he could end up like another Davies type signing.
Anyway good luck Kalvin….pleased you’ve joined and hope you enjoy your time here and rebuild your reputation.

"Silly lad thought that briefcase said Barcelona, instead it actually said Bramhall Lane or be a loner"

What the hell am I reading?

I just figured it out.. we're planning to swap Wilder with Bielsa in the summer 😮

It was never going to be glowing view from, but at least the Ipswich one had some positivity.

I think he'd have been better going to a club like Spurs/ Brighton/ Newcastle where the competition for starting places was a bit less intense... he'd have started more and kept momentum. Once the momentum left and he drifted out of the England starting XI he clearly died a bit inside.

Best of luck to him, if he does well he might fancy another years loan next season.

Next season we’re skint. TV money is currently £35 million this season….next season parachute payments end…so we down to £7 million a season going forward.

Suspect our upper salary limit will be £10K a week.
So can’t see anyway he can come on loan…
Suspect he’ll likely go to a newly promoted or newly relegated club.

Do you think we're paying his wages now? ?

If I'm honest iv never understood the hype about him, wilder was after him at leeds wasn't he? Hope he does well but it's another "get player fit and in form for someone else" signing

He’s a perfect player to have in the team
When you have someone like Gus.

Phillips is all defence and breaking up play and winning it back, whereas Hamer thrives in freedom. I think the former will really help to kick on the latter.
