Saudi Arabia and the Prince

He’s a member of the royal family there which rule over the country, and there has been a lot of suggestion on here that he may look for further investment from within his family. I’d say that people who it doesn’t sit comfortably with, like myself, have plenty of reason to feel that way.

There are literally thousands of members of the Saudi royal family, only a handful control their foreign policy.

To judge the Prince or associates based on hisnationality is/their nationality is xenophobic.

Errrm...he is a Prince of Saudi Arabia........besides...you posted it in the first place.....

The point of my post (which seemingly went over your head) was that it's not relevant. Oh well.

China good

Saudi bad

I am looking forward to a pre season tour of Saudi,be some new grounds for me.

Pretty much true I'm afraid. apart from sand, toilet paper and sheeps eyes ( for our oyster surprise) Crab Industries find it hard to do business in Saudi whilst in China they can get you almost anything. The good news for you is that a Jenny Agutter all orifices sex doll/companion is due out soon! The Crab has the prototype in his office but it seems to be off his radar as we think he's got a new train set as he comes into work every day dressed as a station master and locks himself in his office shouting "l'm aboard"

We could do a discount on that one when launched as "soiled" if you like?

It's completely unfair to judge a man on the actions of his nation, rather than his character.

You earlier not being responsible for killing Dolphins.... Ow, 'ang on

Very fair point in the OP but sins of the father is the S2 way

In the discussion about the statement, I saw numerous posters mention Saudi Arabia's reputation for humans rights infringements and funding terrorism.

May I point out that, of the many legitimate concerns/questions about the possible change of ownership; this isn't one of them. It's completely unfair to judge a man on the actions of his nation, rather than his character.

Unless the Prince is personally responsible for funding terrorism or infringing on human rights (which I highly doubt) then the whole point is redundant.

Wasn't he directly a member of government not so long ago?
He's also a member of the family that rules Saudi Arabia.
He can't just shake off who is he or what he's part of that easily.

I was more worried about the paper business, anybody who's been out there knows not a lot of that stuff gets used as their drains aren't as good as ours. Anyway why don't they do solar panels out their makes a world of sense rather than just chucking another bucket of oil in the generator.

Can any of the people who are reacting negatively to this advise why owning 100% is so dramatically different to owning 50%, did he become more involved in the Saudi government because he bought the extra 50%
It wasn't as big an issue 5 years ago, but now it seems to be a big deal, I don't see the added issue?

Big bad McCabe the swindler was still around to have pot shots at,if Kevin goes, those that hate our Chairman and co owner have to have someone to direct their anger at.

I'm also a board when I think of Jenny Agutter. Is that just me or has my therapy not worked??

Don't think there's any change at all, bar he would actually own United outright and would wield greater power.
The OP though seemed to be claiming that the Prince is somehow divorced from who runs Saudi Arabia which would be a novel way of looking at who he is.

Because there had been numerous references to it in the other thread, I was pointing out that the actions of a country dont reflect the character of an individual - a point which you've either missed or fail to understand.

Yes, I'm sure as General President of Youth Welfare he was responsible for all kinds of atrocities.

Can't say I'm too impressed with the new nickname Vern gave me though, The Fat Cuntroller.

He's part of the royal family that runs the country and happened to take a direct part in the running of government at one point.
By definition, he's part of a power structure that comes up short on human rights.

There are thousands of members of the Saudi royal family, most of them have no say in the ruling of the country.

As I pointed out, his only influence in Saudi Arabian politics is in his position of General President of Youth Welfare.

I never understand this history of human rights misdemeanours

luckily we in Britain never harmed any Indians whilst ruling there, except the odd isolated massacre
We rarely took part in slavery apart from the odd couple of hundred years
backing apartheid in africa , mau mau uprising crushing
irish potato famine
child poverty in the industrial revolution sending kids down mines and sewers and up chimneys
forcing single women in the sixties to give up babies

and we are civilised

I'm with you there, sometimes i hanker back for the good old days. You won't get many to agree with you though

That's an impeccable record but you've forgotten we didn't introduce slavery to America either.

I understand it perfectly well thanks very much....what I don't understand is why, if it was being discussed on another thread you couldn't articulate your point in there.....instead you felt the need to start a brand new one just to bring more attention to something you feel is totally irrelevant.....totally defeats the object....unless you fail to understand irony...
