This lad obviously has more talent than the other players in the squad, but I think we are a worse team with him in it. Sadly he just doesn't fit our style, and no matter where we try and shoehorn him in the side it just doesn't quite work. I'd consider selling him in January, and reinvest the funds on a creative midfielder (assuming we can get our money back for him). In my opinion, he's a player who'd thrive in France or Spain where you get more time on the ball, not sure the Premier league suits him. I'm sure I'll get slated for this, but just my opinion.

Too good for us. He will be off at the end of the season. Wouldn't surprise me if he hasn't already instructed his agent to sound out some clubs.

He dominated the midfield against Leeds and has pretty much been our best midfielder this season (not saying much I know) but today he looked like he had given up, not surprising since they keep hoofing it over his head. Wouldn't be surprised to see us get some money back on him in January.

He's shown flashes of ability but at the end of the day he's had very very little influence on anything at all since he signed. I think at this moment in time we have to say that makes him a waste of money.

I hope that changes and I think if we manage to find some form from somewhere, he might just come good.

No one any good is going to come to us in January, except on loan. Might as well keep him until the summer now at least and try get the best from him.

Obviously has more talent...

Too good for us...

Will thrive in a good team...

And the perenial favourite '...except Berge'

Only, he did join a good team, didn't he? And now we're dire. Yes, we've also replaced a 'keeper with a less good one, and lost our best defender in that time, but we've been on a steady decline with Berge in the team (bar one run of four games) so as usual I'm left to wonder why is Berge apparently so self-evidently better than the rest of the squad when he seems incapable of positively impacting the result?

He looked bollocksed today but against their three in the middle the way they move off the ball and how fast they move the ball when they have it we were always going to be doing a shed load of running in the middle.

He is easily good enough for the Premiership, just needs better players around him.

He's got players around him who were the 5th best team in England before lockdown though. He's got players around him who've proved they can perform in the Premier League. He's literally the only one who hasn't amongst our midfielders, so it doesn't really make sense to use that excuse.

I think Berge has undoubted quality and started the season better than most. He has got worse as the season has gone on but he is surrounded by some very average players which doesn’t help. He still shows flashes of quality and I think he would be a top player in a better team.

Agree, largely. I don’t quite see the player others see. Either way, we could offload for a sizeable sum and I don’t think he’d stick around in the championship anyway.

I reckon he'll stay in the prem. Someone will come in for him due to his reputation and physical attributes, however it will be interesting to see if he does anything.

Tough on Berge when you have an out of form Fleck on one side and Lundstram on the other. Lundstram is not happy he wants more money for scoring 5 goals last season ,he now prefers to slow down and pass backwards. Oh for a Trevor Hockey.

We don’t have a style at minute 😂 I see what you mean though I think he’ll be gone soon I’m sure Arsenal are sniffing but agree totally I’d play a number 10 ASAP

I honestly don't think Wilder signed him. He stands out like a saw thumb. He's going to be a quality player but doesn't fit into how we play. The wettest tall guy I've ever seen as well. Have he ever won a header?! We looked like he was trying to be more in their faces first half but looked like a headless chicken.

I suspect he will leave us before long. Arsenal seem interested and they need players.

I think Berge is not playing in his best position he should be a midfield playmaker like Currie or Hoddle or the late Ray Wilkins Rip.

I meant if we sold Berge and reinvested the money Wilder would waste it. Like he has on Bogle/ Lowe/ Robinson he's spent nearly £100m and do we have that much of a better team than when we first came up?
Ah ok. I agree his signings have been poor recently, Berge is going to be a top midfielder as he gets older.

Always play to the strengths of the best and most effective players. Berge is clearly one of those

Sander has a lot of talent - he just needs better players around him to shine (and of course improve his own game, e.g. defending). The problem - we didnt sign any better players, particularly in the midfield.

The team was better before we signed him. Yes, there are other factors, but I genuinely don't think that it's 'clear' we should build our team around a player who has offered very little since he joined us.

Think you’ve got to give some credit to the way Leicester’s midfield 3 can move the ball it’s one of the most balanced midfields in the prem and I agree they could pull us about at will especially in the first half.
