i think berge is playing very cautiously this month and making sure he doesnt get injured in case anybody comes in for him before end of the window ive a feeling if hes still here come feb 1st we may well see an upgrade on his performances

Chelsea Liverpool and Arsenal all in the market for midfield players and all expressed an interest before
If they attribute his recent bad form to injury and come back with an offer of over £15m plus add ons taking us to the level of getting our money back on purchase price I can see him going

If they’re spending €80m on Fofana and €65m on Cucurella they can pony up. Fofana played less than 10 games last season.

Also, not quite sure who Berge replaces in their current line up of midfielders. As much as I like Berge, he doesn’t improve Chelsea staring 11 or bench at all.

It's his injury record that's going against him, and he's always recovering so it has meant inconsistent performances, but his price will be going for him, due to a smaller length of contract now, Berge could go for around 10M...

Complete bargain to be had, and I might upset some on here, but that would be good for us now to clear the embargo, so I would sell..

Why risk upsetting the side by selling now - Utd are already short of quality and bodies in midfield? Remember the fallback if he does go may be Osborn running around like a headless chicken - a big backwards step. If he still wants to go regardless of whether Utd get up, then deal over summer. His agent has plenty of time to put something in place

One of the weirdest things people do on Twitter is pretending to be a journalist. It's hardly a glamorous profession.
Things must have changed since my day. It was incredibly glamorous. Working for the Independent in the 1980s, it was almost like being a rock star or footballer. Sex, drugs and rocknroll. And sex.
I can appreciate that churning out clickbait for the Star 40 years later may not be quite so exciting.

You could argue he’s keeping one of Doyle and McAtee out of the starting lineup and contributing less than either of them.

We should try and use him to get one of those guys we should have signed instead of him initially, Camara or Grillitsch. Roma and Ajax are clubs I could see him going to

Realistically he's not going anywhere now because no one will offer over 8m and we'd be mugs to accept a low fee before we're promoted

Fair challenge but there's not but there's not much quality behind them in the event of injuries, suspensions and needing to rotate - Osborn, Fleck, Coulibaly - I wouldn't have confidence in any of them to perform at the required level.

When Utd were chasing those guys, they were a top 10 Prem club - able to attract better players and / by offering a higher salary. The world has changed somewhat since then.

If any of my kids said they want to be like James Shield when they grow up, I'd be very worried! :)

How do we know that would clear the embargo?
Someone on here said our last accounts showed we owed £30m+ on purchased players, and we haven't sold anyone since

Apologies - we've sold Lankshear for what, £2m.
And are we ourselves receiving that in installments?

Does anyone know how much money we'll need to pay to lift the embargo?
I suspect not.

Payments are staggered and in smaller installments, it's been quoted as a soft embargo, suggesting its one player and an installment is due that we can't pay, we may owe 30M overall, but the payments needed to clear the embargo could be as small as 2M, clubs will wait but the default on the payment must be reported, that's where the EFL get involved.

We may have 30m outstanding but that could be payable over 4 years, and promotion would blow that away like dust, so fingers crossed..

About now I think we need to sell to keep the wolf from the door, that's all, it wouldn't clear all the alleged debt fully, but as an example the sale of Ramsdale will have helped keep us afloat last season by paying other installments that would have been due on players we've signed previously..

This season we haven't sold, we've bought, which suggested to me we were in control financially, Prince isn't shabby with finances and where money is concerned he's nobody's fool, this Is unexpected, likely the takeover has affected financial cash flow somehow.

I love our fans. Attracting interest from Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Club Brugge but our fans are happy to drive him to the 1st bidder 🤪

Have any of the marquee signings delivered as much as Gibbs white or Ndyie.. I know its a different league, but I compare a loanee and a under 23 sub.

Arguably Moussett was the best value and most successful of all the transfers made during that period, says something doesn't it?

So maybe you can understand why some of our fans think like they do..

Me, its about the club at the end of the day, its gotta come first, players come and go.. Boot on the other foot, Liverpool come in, Berge won't blink.

...really.
Think back to the season in which he was first injured or remember who played RM this season when he was missing.
Only Jesus could of saved us that season doubt Berge would of kept us up. My opinion don't expect everyone to agree though on this occasion I'd like to humble pie eventually.

It’s all guess work from what I have seen. God knows how they keep coming up with the figures they do. It changes depending on who posts. Never seen so many, so sure about figures that they don’t even know are owed.
