I've seen delusion in the fan base before but Berge has got people talking absolutely insane.

This £30m player we've got.... The most we've ever been offered for him is €12m from a Belgian team, which is just over £10.5m.
Me and the rest of football apart from a few of you weirdos say that's yer fucking lot. Pure magnolia and brown carpets.

More chance of promotion with Sander Berge than with £10.5m paying off a few debts.

What he's truly worth is for one, subjective and two, completely irrelevant. The reason people say hold out for his release clause or do not sell is not because they think he is worth 35m, but because promotion is worth a lot more than that and he helps us get there.

your first line there luke is the best line on this thread if we sell berge for only 12m 90% of that will just go on the running of the club if he kicks on in the 2nd half of the season and helps get us to the premier league he will be worth double that

I really wish you wouldn't come on here with all that common sense bollocks - it upsets the posters who think they know a bit about football.

The flip side is that Sander we know wants to play on a bigger stage than United, probably even if we go up. He seems to be going through the motions somewhat of late, he's not someone who's going to give you 90 minutes of graft or 90 minutes of quality, it's the moments he provides of class that he's in the team for but if someone gave us £13m and we got a decent loan into replace him, or a permanent signing, don't ask me who, then I think there's some merit to it as opposed to having Sander in current form.

I think he wanted to go as soon as we got relegated and for him playing at United in the Championship was never part of the plan and perhaps he just isn't the type be be motivated unless he's on a bigger stage. He's too good a pro to throw the toys out the pram but I do wonder, like what happened to Michael Brown when we kept him in his last season, if current form is the result of him being here when he doesn't want to. Anyone who's been in a relationship and not happy, whether at work or yes a relationship, knows you just don't feel motivated/excited to be in the role. Might be totally wrong, but I could see lack of motivation as a factor at the minute.

I am probably wrong because I know what Sander can do, if he wants. However if someone Italian based who is watching us gives us enough short term cash to bring in a Lewis O'Brien and a Ellis Sims type we are sorted as long as McBurnie is close to being back.

Hes a lovely lad, but he wants to leave. Although back from injury, he's not a world beater even in the champ. So if someone from them prem offers 12-15m, why stop him from leaving?
  • decent payment for a replacement/ other players contracts(Ndiaye new contract?)
  • sell on if he goes elsewhere
  • player leaves happy from the club

Hi McDonagh,
Not sure if you have seen the message I sent to you a few days ago. Check your inbox 1673683977123.png

Georginio Rutter: Leeds United sign forward from Hoffenheim for club record fee 40 million Euros.

don't think they will be signing Sander now. Also seems a ridiculous price for a forward who has scored 11 in 63. Just because he is from Germany, surely Ndiaye is worth that!

One of the weirdest things people do on Twitter is pretending to be a journalist. It's hardly a glamorous profession.
"I understand that..." = I read it on a forum.
"I've been led to believe..." = A mate told me something he read on a forum.
"I'm hearing rumours..." = My wife has seen something on a forum and is reading it out aloud to me.

"Unconfirmed sources", my work colleague tells me he knows someone who works for the club, but won't tell me who".

Ndiaye's value will be significantly impacted by him having <18 months left on his contract.

I would assume Ndiaya would have lots of interested buyers and it will subsequently be to our benefit as it will drive the price up
