He could become a player like Duffy, or he could end up in non league. Let him go and figure it out for a while.
This is my worry for Marsh. He's clearly got a nice touch and knows where the net is but no idea how to play mens football...yet. A lot of young forwards reach this stage and either find a way or slowly drop.

I’ve not seen it but it apparently came from a horror challenge and the referee ended the game a few minutes early as a result of the injury.

Possibly a long road to recovery ahead, but he has to believe in himself.

He's shown a lot of potential which has been recognised by club & country, there's no reason he can't bounce back from this. Plenty have before him.

A very talented full back, that was starting to give comfort in our squad options.
He'll be a loss.

💪

I know it was a horrendous tackle (watched the game on the wolves app) but he is another one who wears baby shin pads. Probably might not have much difference here but someday soon someone will ban them.
It'd need to be a whole leg solid steel splint to get anywhere near preventing that leg break

Shin pads don't help with a tackle like that. Only ever good for preventing a few bruises, not for leg breaking challenges.

They are useless , you need proper pads , the fa and the clubs should insist on at least 8 inch pads of a certain quality .protect the player and their own assets.

I think that’s true but at the same time from experience I’ve been saved more serious injury by wearing proper ones.
Wearing a seatbelt doesn’t guarantee you won’t be injured or killed in a car crash but it does reduce the risk

Hope he's back on the mend soon🤞
How it was and how it is today

Its about time someone got charged with GBH and put inside for challenges that are clearly meant to seriously hurt someone. It's the only way to stop it. Whoever did ot will get a 3 match ban and then carry on as if nothing has happened. In the meantime Sai is almost certainly out for the season with no guarantee he ever fully recovers

From the reports it seems like it was Scott Carson's lad who made the tackle?
Not that it will help Sai, but I hope there has been some sort of apology.

Sai was very unlucky in that with his pace he got to the ball first ,I think the other lad was committed to winning it but came in late . just something that can happen now and again in a contact sport .hopefully Sai gets well soon and gets back on the grass.

Not seen it myself but as you say, things do happen on a pitch, sometimes all too easily. I can't think for a second however in 2024 a professional footballer would set out to intentionally injure an opponent, let's just hope it was clumsy and ill-timed.

That was my take on it

Worrying a big part of Children’s Sunday league football these days as well. Literally only recently saw a 13 year old end up with a broken ankle as a result of zero protection.

Rules need to be put in place those micro pads give zero protection ,junior team managers don't let your kids use them .fashion fad
You would think the fa would be all over it

Any news on the actual injury? Watched last night. Absolute disgrace of a tackle. Thought it looked like a broken leg but unsure on if the club has announced what the injury is?

It was clumsy and ill timed and also the young lad is only 18 years old and still learning, no way did he go in for that tackle with the intent of hurting him.

What a great shame . This lad has shown plenty of promise and to receive such a serious injury at this stage in his career must be devastating .

Looking at it optimistically , he is at an age where a full recovery from such an injury is quite common and I sincerely hope that this is the case in his respect .

Best wishes Sai .

He’s only 19. He’s got time to get over this.

It is a pity though as he was just starting to progress and who know where he would have been in a year.

We have a relatively small squad and players like Sai were getting minutes here and there.

Would be good to get an update on how his rehab is going. Obviously, not for this season, but his light just started to shine really bright and he got his injury, so he's one I'm really interested in.

and Arblaster.

I assume we'll continue to get those rehab videos on Blaster, but I've not heard a single thing re Sai. Have you? I saw him in his leg cage on a lap-clap of BDTBL one game this season. Can't remember when. Maybe Stoke, so everyone could be in the George pic

He still had the cage around his leg last week. Cant remember if it was the Butnley or West Brom game.
