If this subject goes on much longer, our attendances will be reduced by a few thousand, the number that will have 'lost the will to live',it's only f***ing Ryan Leonard from Southend !!!!

'Mr Rooter' makes me feels that I should be delivering broadband rather than posting. The contract signed or not is irrelevant to my view. At the moment Sheffield have not made an offer worthy of Ron saying yes, and I now think it will take a bid of between £700k/£750k to get him. Will you pay that much? The only other possibility is that Lenny puts a transfer request in, which he may do. So for now I'm confident that he stays with us.

CW won't pay £700,000 for a squad player. End of.

Can't argue with that logic to be fair.

I don't think we will up it by that much, and if he has a love for the club then I can't see him putting a transfer request in either.

Just to take this thread back to its roots, how good is he again? Should we be making all this effort?

I'm biased, but I have seen him develop from a raw teenager under Paul Sturrock to an all round box to box midfielder with a great engine now. The highest I have seen him play in is FL1 and therefore it's difficult to gauge his potential in the Championship but he is rarely beaten for pace,is strong in the tackle and rarely loses an aerial challenge. He also has a pretty impressive shot on him. There's tons of YouTube clips if you can be bothered. I've said I'm biased, but Wilder must agree with most or all that I have said for you still to be bidding now. Can he make the jump upwards? very easily, I think.

I understand that's from a supporters point of view but you'd be hard pressed to find a Blade that doesn't think that he sounds like the ideal signing.
People are saying he'd be a squad player because we have 3 or 4 exceptional midfielders at the moment but they are all very similar. Basically we are very much in need of a strong box to box midfielder regardless of whether he'd start every game or not.
The step up would all boil down to whether Wilder agrees with your assessment or not, which it seems like he does.

On a personal level mate, if we are getting a bit pissy with you it's only out of frustration.
Plus we've been cherry picked in the past so we'd be lying if we didn't envy your chairman in a way for fighting so hard to keep hold of your talent.

Fucking hell we're cap-doffing a bloke in a ludicrous syrup, now! Ironically someone who would have to be very careful doffing his own cap and certainly wouldn't give his forelock a tug.

What next? Their manager is a lovely shade of orange?....

Absolutely no problem mate, this has been far more interesting than our board before the new signings started. I don't think I have ever stayed so long on someone else's board which must mean its a fun. (Cue choruses of 'Fuck right off then'). If you get to the magic number bid wise by the way, I have no doubt that Ron will bend over, but until then........

I have enjoyed your posts but you're making him sound like a younger Lampard. Our manager thinks he'll do a job in our squad but, regarding his value, 3 goals a season is not outstanding for a box to box man in League 1. He's never been in the PFA side (League 1 or 2), he's got 10 and a half months left and he can walk for free, and United have already bid a lot more for him than any of the other 90 clubs.
Rug Ron may dig in his heels but Tufty won't be spunking our hard-earned money

I'm reckoning that if you hadn't come in for Lenny you would have had a very quiet summer. So, on that basis, carry on with the insults, it just means that we are irritating you, which I think is great.:)

One of your number asked me what he was like, I just told it as I see it. Over the last two seasons Phil Brown has had Lenny prowling in front of the back 4 and therefore his goal scoring chances has been limited. I can't argue about the PFA sides but Wilder is still in the mix and still bidding (£500k) so he must see more in Len than you do I guess. If you jog on to another player, no one will be more pleased than me. It's all about opinions I guess.

Those PFA teams are largely a load of shite anyway - rarely does a player who's not in a promotion side make the cut. I know little of Leonard I have to admit but would rather take fans opinions of him. The fact Wilder sees fit to chase him all summer also speaks volumes.

No Ryan Leonard in the Southend squad, we submitted a new bid yesterday, Wilder said he was confident of getting his targets in. Coincidence, Probably.

Maths!!! Pedant attack, ouchy!

You got away with it for longer than you should have, I noticed it yesterday and then forgot to admonish you.

Me too, I'd rather read your civilised posts than those of a deranged delusional Blade, of which there are a few round these parts.

nope

Subs: Smith, Demetriou, Kyprianou, Matsuzaka, Klass, Cotton, Bridge, Kightly, Trialist, Robinson

I've said since this story started that you will only get him if you meet our evaluation. Seems like you finally have. Apparently PB will explain after the game!

Not taking this in at all until it's official

All conjecture atm. He could have something as simple as a slight a knock
