this shows last 10 games
we lost 3 but won 7 , hence 21 points and this playing leeds and sunderland a point more than burnley

if we repeat that it would give us 91 points with 2 games left
id take that now

But... we play Burnley in 10 games. If over the course of the next 9 games, we both maintain our last 10 PPG, we would be sitting as follows when we meet:
  • United 88 /89pts
  • Burnley 86 pts
That means a Burnley victory at Turf Moor puts them 2nd with 2 games to go.

We need to open the gap further as their GD is killing ours

Think we'll find it difficult to secure second now unless Burnley have an unexpected downturn.

They're better than us defensively and despite a lean spell, seem to find it easier to score than us. I'll be astonished if we end up with a better goal difference.

Part of me is excited that we could win the play offs as that's the biggest game we could realistically hope to win and surely it's got to be our time soon. Imagine the atmosphere at the Paul Heaton gig the next day if we won.

That said if there's one club that could finish on 95 points or more and lose in the play offs, securing the worst play off record in the country, well you know.....
Agree barring a monumental collapse Weeds look to be up after last night. That was our chance to pull away and we didn't take it. Burnley have only lost 2 games all season and have the best defence in the league so again we need a downturn in performance which they had when Brownhill was out for 4 games. He's back now and there was a significant upturn when he arrived on the pitch against the Pigs.

For us to keep in contention imo we need to change the CB positions , hope Seriki can get some game time, play our best starting forward and avoid anymore injuries and suspensions which looks unlikely. Burnley away will be pivotal. Just want to avoid the play offs at all costs as we've shown already this season when it comes to the big games we fall short as 1 win and 4 losses confirm.

In true Blades fashion we are likely to miss out on automatic by 2 points, have Hamer suspended for all the play off games and Brewster as the only fit forward going out to WBA in the play off semis.

Jeez, I bet some of you lot struggle to pluck up the courage to cross a busy road.
You'd be analysing the probability of getting knocked over. 😆
You do look both ways before crossing roads, don't you? That's analysing the probability of... Oh, never mind.

ITS NOT ABOUT JUST 1 or 2 GAMES,, we may lose to burnley but its how we do over 10, we need to replicate . its just as hard for burnley, if they beat us to improve on the previous 10 games

we lost 3 leeds didnt lose any but only got 3 points more

leeds and burnley oth draw more than us. which loses 2 points

same with the run in if we win at qpr and wba draw at leeds saturday we are just 3 points behind
its a quarter of the season left yet
in the last 10 we havent drawn any , got max points in 7 of 10 games 1 more point than burnley
over those 10 burnley drew 5 so lost 10 points to our 9
they won only 5 so they only winning 50 per cent of their games
they might beat us but it may be only 1 of 5 they win
our consistancy has been better , dont forget we are 2 points netter off in the table only because weve had 2 docked

leeds look nailed on to be champions but strange things happen in the last couple of months of a season their players and fans are way too cocky just now and still think anything can happen its fine lines if we had got a 2nd goal in that first 25 minutes i think we win that game still all to play for ⚔️

You can come up with all the stats, graphs and forecasts you want but we all know the -2 points deduction will ultimately cost us second place.....it's the Blades way!!
2 points is irrelevant in my opinion if Burnley and Leeds do the double over us. We need to be picking up and ultimately taking off enough points from those who are around us if we are to challenge.

You don't read posts properly before replying do you? I have literally set out that if both United AND Burnley maintain their last 10 points-per-game, over the next 9 games, we would go to Turf Moor 2 or 3pts above them. Meaning that a loss would put us 3rd with just 2 games to play.

That's is literally what i posted in the post you have replied to.

I hear what you're saying regarding Burnley drawing, but they're not falling away due to our defeats.

Last 5, we have gained 1pt on them:

Last 10, it's still only that 1 point:

Last 15, we're level

It's OK saying Burnley draw too many, but in 15 games, we haven't pulled away from them. If they draw too many, we lose too many.

Please come back and tell me how my factual evidence is wrong.

Wish our fans would appreciate what Wilder has done after last season.

When we beat QPR on Saturday if leeds lose to WBA we will be 2 points behind.

We are 5 points behind with 12 games to go and most of our fans gave up when Leeds made it 2-1 other night. Compare and contrast when we were 3-2 down v Man U in 2019, everyone stayed.

Christ knows what has happened to our fans, where's the positivity?

still in our own hands imo weve 4 consequtive winnable home games coming up and definete chances of picking points up in next 3 away games qpr will be tough a point would do and although wednesday will be gunning for us their home form is iffy as is their defence every chance of picking something up at the sty utb ftp ⚔️

its not wrong , it is a toss up but they arent winning as many is my argument and we go Turf Moor to win knowing a draw would also be a good result
they must win , which hopefully will stretch their defence, but as losing so called 6 pointers in the last 10 games to leeds and sunderland we are still ahead

I think we will go to Burnley 1-2 pts ahead of Burnley ……so we will need to avoid defeat in that game.

Was talking about fans in the pub before the game on Monday.

One said of the Leeds v Sunderland game how Elland Road was still rammed and nobody had left at 1-1 as they approached full time. Our fans start to filter out from like 85-mins which i have never understood.

Then bang, as soon as Leeds went 2-1 up against us, our ground emptied.
The board hadn't even gone up for stoppage time at that point... i understand people leaving when that 3rd went in, but not the 2nd.

I think to be fair when the second went in a fair amount of people left because it was kicking off and they probably didn't want to get caught up in anything outside.

The minus two points.

It will fuck us up! Trust me. I'm a DJ.

Leeds will not lose to WBA.

There'll certainly be some twists and turns before the season is that's for sure.

I'm also almost sure Burnley will drop points as will we. Having watched them vs The Pigs they could have been 3 down at half time was it not for some absolutely woeful finishing from them lot.

They're beatable at home if we play like we did vs Leeds (1st 70) and Boro all game.

Leeds will not lose to WBA.

Weird shit will happen in the run in. Let for us is to make sure we have less weird stuff than Burnley & Leeds

The positivity is that it is still in our hands,Wilder has got the players he wanted in the JTW including a £10mill striker and he has got a fun fit squad apart from Blaster and maybe Sireki.

The issue for Wilder is that there are no excuses left. If we don't get promoted with this squad(autos or play offs), the squad will need another rebuild for next season and the board may consider his position untenable

Unfortunately it won't with Leeds, they will win the league.

We've got a few games where there are some scores to settle - PNE and the Pigs for starters coming up who'll both be well up for it for different reasons.

Despite the bravado of some these aren't easy games.

Looking ahead to Burnley is understandable but premature at this stage.

They probably will. I don't think they will win all their remaining games though. Indeed I don't think they will remain undefeated.

Of course, neither will we.

Updates following the latest round of games - Coventry come in, Blackburn move out

Updates following this weekends games.

By virtue of them having now played Luton, Burnleys run in at home now looks significantly harder than either us or Leeds - of course, with only 5 games remaining a lot of that is their game against us (2.056 ppg)

We see an increase in Home difficultly in a similar (albeit smaller) manner as a result of having ticked off the Preston game.

All three of Leeds, us and Burnley have Millwall at home (1.278ppg) which is an interesting nuance of the fixture list.

Based on current positions again Burnley are the big movers...

Interesting graphs ........ IF I knew who the logos were (Blades and Leeds apart)

Just had a little look over on the Leeds forum - Waccoe - they have a thread on us and Burnley and there’s a lot of pant shitting going on. They seem a bit rattled after their embarrassment yesterday so COME ON BLADES LETS FUCKING AV EM!!! 👊🏻

I’d love to be singing “Champions again ole ole” last game of the season.
