Read rumours that we are in for James Vaughan (Huddersfield) and that a bid has been submitted for Dan Burn (850k).

Make of those what you will. Cant see either happening.

James Vaughan is a fantastic player. Would be really excited by this. Can't see it happening though.

Wouldn't mind Burn but I think we'd be better off looking at somebody at this level such as Paul Downing from Walsall.

I'd be livid if we signed James Vaughan. Injury prone and no doubt on high wages, it's the kind of player we usually go for so I hope we've learned our lesson.

Jus finished aloan at Birmingham who are looking to make it permanent

Birmingham are in for Zac Clough i think & I can't see them financing deals for both forwards. So maybe there's something in that one, however I doubt it.

Clough is an attacking midfielder, or `number 10`, rumours from Birmingham say both are signing for them.

He didn't score for them.
I know that's not everything, he could have been the MOTM each game but for me a striker needs to score a goal in 8 appearances on loan to get snapped up.

He`s also suffered a couple of serious injuries, in the last few years.
Think we`ve got enough of those haven`t we

James Hanson at Bradford was mentioned on fh last night only heard a bit of it don't know if it was a suggestion but the show host kept saying he would be excellent upfront with Sharp wonder if he knows something!

If we get James Hanson it will turn horrible to watch and I have really enjoyed some of the stuff we've been playing recently, so if you have'nt gathered already it's a no from me.

Mate i'm with you he's a donkey..

Hanson would do a job for us. We at least would have an attacking player who can head a ball.
Not sure stretch although Adkins did sign a target man for saints when he was in this league and Billy does put some decent crosses into the box so i can see it could be a possible.

I remember some bright spark suggested Vaughan last week!:p

However the rumour probably comes from
That suggestion

'Would do a job' - hate that being used for potential signings. Is just doing a job enough? If we're having to be careful transfer wise then we need a bit better than these type.

Luton Shelton was fast, but that wasn't enough. Getting someone in to head the ball is the same, not enough.

Hope Adkins is being more ambitious.

Vaughan is a bit of a crock if memory serves me correct

Therefore I could only possibly believe we were trying to sign him if Clough was still here

Burn and Hanson are exactly what we are crying out for, especially at third tier level. All those long balls that get banged forward to Sammon and that come straight back would start sticking with Hanson. All those that get banged forward for us to defend and our centre halves struggle to deal with, suddenly start getting won cleanly by Burn and end up 20/30 yards away from the danger zone. Both players would help take the pressure off the rest of the team, we'd also be better at defending and attacking set plays.

I'd admit Hanson is a bit one dimensional but he's the type of striker that we need at this level.

I was just highlighting that attribute mate because astoundingly we don't have a single striker who can do it well, therefore by signing him we would , in my opinion improve over night.

I can see that you're not taken with him and that's fair enough but I quite like how he plays. We need to start bullying defences again and I can't think of many better in this league at doing that.

As others have already said though, chances are Bradford wouldn't sell and like you say, Adkins may not have the slightest interest in him.
