The worst thing that could happen to Utd in our history ,cant believe some people want a foreign investor from the middle East who has only been to one match this season ,with questionable funds to take over full ownership of Utd. What have we become ,or what would we become ? McCabe for all his faults which are grossly exaggerated on here at least keeps an eye on things at the club. Adkins was the princes man not McCabes although some wont believe it. I just cant believe some would gamble our club on this ,we would become a neglected toy in a couple of years and left to rot.

I think it's certainly somewhat of a a gamble as to whether your foreign owner is serious about your club. However, although it's a shit turn of events for English football, I think this is the main way forward for most clubs these days. It can take you on an upwards trajectory (Leicester, Watford, Pigs) or it can turn into a very sad state of affairs (Villa, Blackburn, Charlton).

McCabe is getting on a bit; he's 68 I believe. It might well be that he passes the co-ownership onto Scott and Simon, but we don't know if they'll want to run things and we don't know how happy the fanbase will be with one or both of them at the helm. I think we'll probably be looking for new owners within the next decade, so you may have to get used to the idea of a foreign investor running the show.

Of course, it's not always the case and it's perfectly reasonable to suppose a British investor might take charge. I'm just basing all this on the current trend of clubs which have changed hands.

People said similar things about Man City & Chelsea, and although I agree that success in football shouldn't be bought, it does seem to be common place.

I saw on the news this morning that a German consortium have just bought Bradford City AFC, be interesting to see how that pans out.

It's bad enough that half of our club is owned by someone from the absolute abomination of a state that is Saudi fucking Arabia, let alone all of it to be Saudi owned.

I'd rather it was owned by err, McCabe.
