Roy’s view

Must admit I couldn't face reading the Arsenal fans one, so didn't. But did end up in a verbal scrap on Youtube with the cockwombles, took 3 of them down before they gave up.

For what it’s worth before being a member I was a long time lurker and it was Roy’s views from which initially drew me in as it was a genuinely interesting and unique part of the forum. But that’s probably just because I’m a masochist that secretly hates United I guess.

Could the OP provide a detailed report on what we aren't and are allowed to say please? It's all so confusing.

I’ll add that I have enjoyed some roysviews in the past hence the reason I still read them, what I’m saying is maybe don’t be so quick to pick out all the negatively and choice your sources more carefully! Comments on Facebook/insta for example are utter trash. Let’s get some more educated opinions rather than things that suit your narrative!
What narrative? It's called "View From" not "look how shite everyone thinks our team/players are" in which case the negative comments would suit the narrative

A negative comment complaining about negativity, I smell PORK

Not since the outrageous 'weirdo' comment...hang on was it Barnsley fans that said that?
I've just found it doubly hilarious again!

I love this club but unfortunately the negativity by some is toxic, as echoed in wilders latest interview there still lots to be positive about so let’s be positive where we can be. Sometimes our fans are our biggest downfall, when we are all together as one we are extremely powerful!
Can you give me 5 positives because at the minute I'm feeling very negative

Chezzy called me a weirdo. A Barnsley fan wrote my favourite ever comment though which is the last one here

Sorry but these are always negative from emotional people during or straight after the game..we don’t need this negative narrative shite spreading across our fan base...

imagine if McBurnie read that latest Roy’s view..will do wonders for his confidence.

some negative miserable souls just like to spread their misery..
That’s the spirit! Ignore negative comments! What could possibly go wrong?

In school we were taught that Roy's 1914 View From contained a line that said "Gavrilo Princip is a nonce" written by Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

And that's how World War 1 started.
And some say it was him not Chamberlin who had that piece of paper from Herr hitler , peace in our time in deed the bollox

I think the only viable explanation for this thread is that Bladesman 2019 is a nom de plume for Roy himself. I suspect he was feeling a little down about himself and, being the internet puppet master he is, knew we'd react to an alter-ego bringing his work into question by shouting from the rooftops about how great he is.

Regardless, keep up the good work Roy

Keep it going Roy. I love em! I never read the Scots ones. I left our message boards and forums years ago for a reason!

Scottish people comment on football players based on which religion they consider themselves, the McBurnie one was never going to be balanced.

Berge's wasn't bad at all, some of it is lost in translation a bit as well.
Indeed. Mcburnie is a known Rangers fan or his family is. Therefore 40% of Scotland fans hate him before he shows up.

I agree with you about the negativity but the comments aren't from United fans so talk of all coming together to support him is irrelevant in this case. If you read the comments you will see most Blades fans are sticking up for McBurnie and slagging the Scotland fans off. It's the few Blades who are agreeing with the Scotland fans you should be criticising. All you are doing right now is shooting the messenger.

The idea that the View From about McBurnie is misrepresentative is just not true either. Pre match James McFadden commented on how disliked McBurnie is by Scotland fans and claimed it was due to him growing up in England. Everyone, including McBurnie himself, knows that a large section of Scottish fans don't like him. If you want to compile a totally unrealistic view of what Scotland fans on the whole think of him then go ahead and compile it yourself but I won't be taking that approach as it's pointless. The views I posted echo what the majority were saying. If you don't believe that is true then just take a look on Twitter, The Scotland forum and comments on various other media outlets discussing last nights game.
I haven't read the whole thread but this does seem a very isolated view. I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

In fairness you've had a pretty easy run of it since that Barnsley fan lost his head over A View from... a few years ago. We should resurrect that thread as he'd totally lost his mind . Very funny

Late to the party, but strongly disagree with the OP.

Roy taps into the core combo of every football fan: Part narcissist (tell me why I'm good), part masochist (this is horrible, tell me why I'm shit) and allows us to share it.

Also, the "neagative" comments have given me 2 of the best things I've ever read on the internet in hindsight - the bouncing day and wednesday view froms.

In summary, I will quote the McBurnie thread to describe what I think of the validity of this thread with a word I'd never before heard of - "pish"

He really did lose his shit. Still no idea why he was so angry. It wasn't even a particularly bad View From

In fact I thought the last few comments sort of identified some of the reasons why the ones above had been overly harsh...

It is possible the image of you sitting in your office chair made of gold courtesy of all the View From advertising moolah, cackling away as you watch the page views ratchet up, was too much to take.
