Allegedly Southampton missed his contract extension meaning free to join another club.
Would be good for us that lad. UtB

I thought he was absolutely outstanding against us for Southampton last season. Almost unplayable. Not sure he is noy at that level week in week when fit.......and when fit is a massive if with this guy....

Stewart is a cheat code at Championship level, when fit. Would likely attract interest from those with parachute payments.

Definitely worth the risk for those teams with them as when he's fit he's superb at this level.

Unfortunately for teams like ourselves that don't have them then it's too much of a risk.

Considering it was Bamford and Cannon holding the striker position on their own last season (Campbell and Ings never warranted minutes anyway) we probably could take a chance on someone who may be a risk as long as one of the other two can do their job again

It's a risky approach but it depends on who we have in reserve, if Oné is going to be in the squad or one of the other academy kids then probably worth the gamble. The thing with Bamford, he got injured in training around the 'boro at home game and we were very light then. With our current injury and conditioning record we probably do need 3 players than can cover every position, can be the same player that can shift from AM to LW to CF or similar but I think the major problem with Wilder recently is the lack of Plan A especially when Plan A is high pressing football, some players are done for after 60 minutes and it's then square pegs. We need more jack of all trades squad players like we had in the Warnock era, it might not be pretty at times, but if you can if say Hamer gets taken off then the system was to play Chong in there or possibly take the formation to more of a 442 with Ings coming off the bench but there aren't many players that can be played out of position even if only for 30 minutes. If we lose Bamford, Stewart (if signed) we would be relying on Cannon and Campbell which doesn't bring a lot of hope.
