But do you not at least understand why people are upset? I do understand it's only one meaningless game but doesn't this start to smell of last season and the season before to you? I admire optimism from people like you and Rodley, it gives this place balance thank God. Otherwise we'd all be swinging from the rafters, but at least have an understanding why people are so pissed off.

For clarity it shows how far we have fallen when Burton Albion are top of your league.

Could say the same for Leicester, Man City, Blackburn and Chelsea all winning the Premier League.

I always find these sorts of things a little bit daft. Football is cyclical and its a little arrogant to be crying into our pies when we lose to Crewe, Burton, Rochdale or whoever.

I disagree. We hardly ever played these sides, let alone lost to them. It's now a regular thing.

It's not arrogance, believe me. It's despair at how far this club has fallen in the last ten years, and there is no end to this slump in sight.

And yes, football is cyclical, but the amount of money at the top is making permanent haves and have nots, and I know where we are going to end up at this rate.

We hardly ever played these sides, but on the flip side, look at the teams that also used to occupy the top division, Aston Villa, Sheffield W*******y, Ipswich, Derby, Nottingham Forest, Fulham, Wolves, Coventry, Sheffield United, Notts County, Preston to name a few have all fallen out of the top division/ divisions.

Yes we're having a bad period and its not looking like changing any time soon, but the money in the game isn't everything, there will be other big sides dropping down the divisions Villa and Newcastle have had plenty of money over the years but still sit outside the Top division. Sides will break into the Premier League (leicester, Bournemouth etc), thats how football in England keeps interesting.

Yes, those sides have fallen out of the top league. Every single one of them save Notts County (who we are turning into) is in better shape than us. Hardly any of them have had a spell at this level as long as ours.

I don't care what they are doing anyway. I care how we are doing. We are doing badly.

I'm hardly positive. But we only sold Adams about 24 hours ago so I'm going to wait and see if we reinvest in the next week or two. Rather than start moaning about it now before anything has actually happened, or scratching around to find traces of a negative in the next interview or article.

Similarly we've had one league game with a fairly large volume of players settling in. As such I'm not prepared to start moaning and writing a season off before its actually happened.

It's not positive or negative, it's just I can't be arsed sitting about whinging, particularly if it's pre-emptive.
