Just announced on Sky that Martin Peters has died from Alzheimer's Disease. Notwithstanding his time at United he will always be remembered by me as a member of the World Cup winning team and another part of my youth gone. RIP

Before my time but I've listened to him been interviewed on his time with us and I was expecting to be critical of United because he was sacked, but on the contrary, he was very complimentary and I thought that was very gracious, many others wouldn't be so gracious. Had all the time in the world for me and was very candid about his time in charge.

Even though he'd probably be first pick for many a "worst ever" Blades XI, he was an English World Cup winner who played for Sheffield United. And only a handful of clubs can claim a 66 winner on their books.
