Alzheimers is a fucking cunt of a disease. Even though he was quite a bit past his best at the Lane, he was still a fantastic player in his time.

Echo every word Since1889, me Dad was suffering with it before he passed away. I read in the paper today about Ben Foster finding an elderly Watford season ticket holder suffering from dementia in a ditch. He cleaned him up, took him home, and has invited him to Xmas lunch. So Ben you will get a good reception from me Boxing day, top lad. Anyway RIP Martin, fine footballer and gentleman.

Sad news the club had become unmanageable for a rookie when he was here, never blamed him for our fall.

I met him in the 90s at some do or other, in that pub at birley, and he actually apologised for his time here but did say he was outta his depth with the overall fucked up state of the place.

RIP Martin. Described by Sir Alf as ten years ahead of his time. A top player everywhere he played.
Being a Blade, well, it's a rollercoaster and he was at the lowest bit with the wheels off. Remember him "Ghosting" in and scoring one or two.
When he left us he reckoned Sheffield was football rivalry gone mad, and the hard time his children had at school because of it.
Legend though. Hopefully these awful ailments will be defeated. Sooner the better.

He was another that we made manager based on his reputation as a player but not as a manager. He was a great player and Spurs and England legend. RIP.

Great player, very nice man.

Me him once at a non-football event, he was there with Martin Chivers. First thing he did when he found out my allegiance was apologise, he then explained the situation at the time and said it was too much for a rookie manager to deal with. Honest, open and genuine.
