I spoke to him as a 14 year old, standing next to the old tunnel on John St when St Mirren came to BDTBL in 1980.
Any time I’ve met a St Mirren fan during my 35 years up here in Paisley,on learning of my team - ‘ hey, Jimmy Bone played for yous’
A sad day.
RIP Jimmy - a Buddie and a Blade 🔴⚪⚫

He also scored in our 5-0 demolition of Arsenal in September 1973. We were 4-0 up inside 30 minutes.
He was part of the swap deal with Norwich when Trevor Hockey went the other way.
Fond memories. RIP.

Indeed he did, what a night that was
Another reason I can never forget it is that the crowd in the kop was quite vigourous to say the least in the first half particularly
And I got pushed against one of the crowd bars and chipped one of my front teeth
I was only about 13 at the time and felt very self-conscious!
RIP Jimmy, have fun with all the other blades up in the sky….

Keep going Jimmy.

If the inevitable happens, considering it's inevitable for all of us and there's a bullet for everyone, my earlier words apply x

We must have bought him just prior to the League Cup final between Norwich and Spurs. I remember that week's Shoot being a League Cup special with pics and posters of Spurs and Norwich players. On the back page, it was split in two with a Spurs player on one side and Jim Bone, in full Norwich kit, on the other, with what looked like a hastily amended 'Jim Bone - Sheffield United' caption. 😆

This is an uplifting thread.

I never saw him play, but felt sad as he was clearly a nice bloke and a good player.

Then the twist - he's still alive but very poorly.

Hope he recovers. So get well soon Jim. Sounds a lot better than RIP Jim.

With all the doom and gloom in here at the moment, it's nice to have some good news. Thanks Jim 👍

Perhaps posters would like to share photographs of their pets, so we can really start to feel good about ourselves again.
