What Bassett did at other clubs isn't of great relevance to me, I was just using the example to illustrate the point that supporters of clubs will have differing views of a manager, depending on how successful his tenure at any particular club was.
Bassett gave us top level football, the first I, personally, had seen. Whilst I've no wish to go back to the type of football we played to get through the divisions, I'm not going to criticise his achievements with us, which surpassed everything before him back to John Harris, and everything since.
