3 months off fitness, by the time he's back to full form, our promotion bid could be over

Dramatic maybe, but I'd argue our promotion bid is already over mate. We didn't build enough in the summer, we didn't address the gaping holes at centre half. We looked to be going down the route of trying to out score the opposition instead. That worked well at Gillingham. We then sold our best player despite having desperate imbalance elsewhere in the squad too. I'd predict that we won't reinvest anywhere near adequately enough. A prediction based on buckets of recent evidence.

That's it then. Season over. Enjoy Meadowhall.

As per other thread, what is the evidence "that we won't reinvest near adequately enough".

I'm more of a get the weekly foodshop done at Asda and the head for a stroll around Dunelm mills kind of bloke, mate. Comments borne out of frustration pal, I am typically a pretty bloody positive Blade but this sale, the timing of the sale, the audacity of the board's statement, have all wound me up no end.

I have no reason to believe the board, the sales of the past 5 seasons are evidence to make that fairly reasonable assumption.

Erm
We're still in division 3 five seasons in a row.

Struggling to understand what more evidence is required?

Have you just been defrosted, or what?

So that is evidence that the current board will not reinvest the money received?

Need another centre back, full back and a midfielder. That's what the money should be spent on. Adams, Done, Woolford, JCR, Flynn.....not really worried about the wide areas.

Convenient that you missed off the phrase "adequately enough" from your previous statement

So, yes, in that context it is evidence

So who decides if the player they are reinvesting in is adequate? You said there is evidence the board is not reinvesting, I said show me the evidence. You said "adequately enough", I say different argument.

3 of them are injured so if one picks up a knock today then what do we do

You said

"As per other thread, what is the evidence "that we won't reinvest near adequately enough".

I said that the evidence is our fifth term in division three. Since the opposite of adequately enough would have resulted in us being in the championship.

I don't see where your difficulty is in understanding the context of what you posted.

(might help if you read back what you posted :))

So Done and Brayford were not adequate replacements for anything else we have in the squad at the moment (when fit).

You could go on forever mate. What happens if you buy 2 and have 7 available when they all come back. You're then massively over stocked and over budgeted in one area.

Injuries happen. You have to try and get them fit.

Your evidence supports my accusation that we've appointed shit managers. We have clearly invested since the new regime came in. You should debate the quality of those investments desperately.

Did you mean desperately ;)

AND for the record (AGAIN) it was moby that added the "adequately enough" element that made sure my evidence was appropriate.

Aye, meant "separately "(spellchecker!) :)

Given the company accounts, we lose money hand over fist. I'm not sure how much people expect others to invest (ironically a few who invest fuck all expect a lot from others) but we have invested.

The game changing statement was probably McCabe's second biggest fuck up, after appointing Robson.
