I hope this is a wind-up or its the stupidest post of the year.
How pessimistic is it possible to be? We're in the playoffs and youre worrying about relegation.
All this despite being 16 places clear and having won 4 times as many matches as 22nd place Peterborough.

the pace at which the Blades are going downhill is gathering speed ...owt can happen... an remember if it wern't for bad luck the Blades wud have no luck at all.

In 2002-3 season, Forest got to the play offs and lost to us in that epic semi final.

The following season (2003-4) they were regarded as being amongst the favourites for promotion. Their first 10 games of the season saw them involved in some tricky fixtures, but they acquitted themselves well, beating the eventual champions Norwich 2-0, Sunderland 2-0, and ourselves 3-1.

After 10 games they were seventh with 16 points, but had just begun to slide, taking only 4 points from their previous 4 games.

By the February they were well and truly involved in a relegation scrap and after 32 games were third from bottom with only 32 points.

They did not go down that season after sacking Hart and appointing Kinnear, but it was a fairly close call. They did go down the following season.

Now, I'm not saying that we will or we won't go down. But after 10 games in that 2003-4 season Forest were in a similar position to the one we are in now, and relegation would have seemed a ridiculous notion to most Forest supporters at that time. They found out it wasn't quite such a far fetched notion as they thought.

Clearly ours are overpaid - why else would anyone in their right minds be looking to reprofile with the likes of Vincent Pericard?
 
Perhaps it slipped your attention, but the divisions best footballing side and one of the biggest wage payers lost at Barnsley last night.

It's the Championship - shit happens.

(We did sound a bit shit last night though - st holder, but didn't go)

What has overpaying got to do with the trial of Pericard?

Surely we're not paying enough if he's all we can get?

Ours currently overpaid hence reprofiling with shit, lesser-paid nomarks like Pericard, Cresswell etc.

But then replacing them with "shit, lesser paid nomarks" means that the current squad aren't overpaid, just disinterested.

Hopefully Hoofwell will be got shot of long before this is realistic, but short term the only way is down while that clown is at the tiller.
