Lundstram may not start at Bournemouth if he’s been that bad today. Not seen it so can’t comment.

My only concern for the start of the season is the quality of teams we’ve played in friendlies. Hence why Lundstram has looked half decent in pre season.

Northampton and Chesterfield are just not particularly helpful games for the main squad. These should have been for the listed players or those returning to fitness.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we looked a bit off the pace at Bournemouth.

Poor start to second half they went up a gear we stayed in the same flat formation despite two changes. 3-1 down and its 65 minutes before we finally get two forwards and a number 10 on the pitch. More even game and two decent chances for us near the end.

Morrison in his short cameo showed what we will need in midfield in the prem. Someone who can run at and go past the opposition with the ball. I really hope we can get him fit because he offers something different.

To-days opposition are the type we will face most weeks in the Prem. They press high and with pace all over the pitch. It was a good work out for that reason and puts in perspective the poor opposition we have played in other pre season friendlies.

I really hope to-day has convinced CW to dispense with the 3-5-1-1 formation for the Bournemouth game as we looked devoid of ideas and resorted to the long ball too often.

We'll all need to get on the prayer mats this week to get JOC fit. Huge problem when he's not in the team and the lack of a quality back up is becoming more evident.
I don't think Bryan did anything wrong again today from what I could see.

And your opnions are famously reactionary, based on heresay and what your mate told you. (I know, you made it to one last year).

I had a conversation with my son about how long it would be before the pussies crumbled if we had a bad run.

I argued Wilder would have full confidence throughout. I forgot about the usual suspects on this forum, melting on a weekly basis in the shoutbox.

Oooh. And I had a conversation about how long it would be before the likes of you pulled the 'how many games have you been to?' joker out. You do realise that my attendance at games has zero effect on outcome, don't you? I could do forty-odd games a season and we'd still be slaves to team selection and ability on the pitch. Tell me you understand that, otherwise you're wasting your time being a football fan. Mind you, in your pickle-sized brain, attending is EVERYTHING, and it is the fulcrum on which you judge people. Let me remind you, I started talking about Monty and Lunny, you started talking about me. Pattern forming here. Same old shit, different sleeve badge on the shirts. I've just watched fifteen minutes of today's game and Lunny touched the ball twenty odd times. Most of them he was either in a poor position to retain, lay off or even contribute or in some cases - as attested by 'hearsay' on here, he gave the fucking ball to the opposition. Call me picky, but that isn't quite what I see as being credibly suitable to face Premier League opposition. It wasn't last season vs Boro (where he was fucking shockingly poor) and it won't be against Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and even Burnley, Southampton and Watford this season. They'll leave him stood pissing his pants. Note - I'm talking about Lundstrum here.

Anyway, I hope you'll have a little ol' think about this lot. We still have weaknesses in our starting eleven (if CW deigns to start Lundstrum) and still have strengthening to do, post McBurnie-wanking. Midfield is still hit and miss and PL oppositions will not be in any way as forgiving as Matlock Town and the rest of the pre-season lot.

Bournemouth beating Lyon 3-0 so that means it will be about 6-1 on Saturday. What's the point? May as well give up. Wilder out. Let's start again.

Jesus Christ. Will anyone actually read that sermon?

As ever;

Saw a picture on twitter of him winning a header and the boys some athlete, hes way above the Reims player and miles off the ground

From what I could see on the stream he seemed to be playing LWB with Stevens at LCB. He may be the solution but it would be good if we played him at LCB as his added height is useful. Agree we did lose shape down the left when he went off. Don't think the Stevens, Osborn combo is strong enough.

He was brought in about 3 or 4 months before Sordell even shook Coutts hand at the beginning of that game.

But it was instantly assumed he'd be the annointed one, wasn't it?

Tell me - was he? Just how did our midfield tick with Lundstrum - Fleck - Duffy, exactly?

Oh aye, we brought Norwood in and Lundstum hardly played again, and we only went and got promoted.

I thought he was Lcb, needless to say the dodgy cameraman didn't help though.

In Hindsight probably a totally unnecessary friendly ends our otherwise positive pre season on a bit of a downer.

Let’s hope that the positive is that Wilder now knows Lundstram isn’t the answer and that If he is committed to this flat midfield 3 we go out and sign a better option.

Even better we switch back to formation that won us two promotions in three years, we have the personnel in Freeman and Morrison (and if fingers cross CW buries the hatchet with Duffy) to do so.

Not from what I recall, no. He was generally considered to be one for the future, which he was (and arguably still is). Lundstram seems to get a lot of grief for not a lot more than just not being Coutts – that’s not really his fault. And I don’t think he’s nearly as bad as many seem to think he is.

First half Stevens LWB, Bryan LCB
2nd half Stevens LCB (Egan went there when Jags subbed on for Stevens), Osborn LWB,

Good shows up my crap eyesight. Based on that performance if JOC is out we have to start with Bryan.

According to some, he's 'one for the future'

I bet Kevin De Bruyne, Jordan Henderson, Paul Pogba, Christian Erikkson and Dele Alli are fucking shitting themsens at the prospect of Lunny facing them down.

Quite obvious to me that when people say 'I don't watch Premier League football', they fucking mean it.

I’ve covered it already.

Sorry. My bad. "Trust Wilder. He's says Lunny is the fucking cat's conkers - we should also see that Lunny is the cat's conkers, because we are merely 'burger flippers'"

Fucking Red Pill time.

Lundstram is the new Monty.. not because he is useless and couldn’t trap a bag of cement but because he is so divisive with the fans.. i actually saw a fight over Monty in the Westfield corner during a game, he was truly awful

For someone who regularly uses 1,000 words when 20 will do, you’ve spectacularly demonstrated your inability to grasp a few simple words.

I didn’t say what you suggest, but can’t be arsed with hollow opinionators like yourself. The definition of mouth and no trousers.

As you we’re, war and peace......

Let’s not forget we lost first 2 games in La Liga

Have a 'like'. You can't be bothered with hollow opinionators because we simply knock the pipes and they chime and sing with some harmonic resonance. Fuck me, Widler could put out a first eleven that contained Baxter, Ford, Guthrie, Woolford, Sammon, Patterson-gives-the-ball-away-to, Doyle, Flynn and fucking Legs-o-wood and we'd still be fucking Champions of Europe, wouldn't we? What is wrong with saying 'this player is below the required standard' based on collective account and his actual performance? I could get it if he set three goals up, skinned the opposition blind and bagged two for himself. I'd be wrong. But face it - he's not got the footballing technical ability for the Championship (5+5 last season) let alone the vast gulf that exists upwards to the Premier League. You need to admit that, stop getting all cunty with people who disagree and standby for the challenges in the next nine months, because fuck me there will be some.

And it's all about Sheffield United - not about how many games I attend. Please accept that.

I don’t think Lundstrum is the answer, BUT if he does play he will have my full backing as will all of the lads. I know we back them to the hilt already but they will need it more than ever this season. I honestly think we will survive, it will be tough obviously but it can be done.

finished. They were a class above for most of the game. We improved last 20 mins with freeman on and morrison. Lunny and Norwood played like they had just got out of bed. Lets hope we play better next week. Im sure we will
As someone else alluded to last week, Norwood worries me as not being up to the job in the PL!

He was that awful Lampard said he was the toughest player he'd played against. Every team needs a workhorse, Monty was, Lunny ain't.
