Mark my words, we are a brilliant football side but we are going to really regret not pushing the boat out (fee or wages on loan) on not bringing a top draw striker in.

It’s on a plate for us to get top two this season, we are so good in pocession and better at the back we just need that class up top, we haven’t got it.

Which top striker?

with Wilder managing him, he would be the full article, he was mis managed and sold on as unwanted baggage, a good manger, like CW would have honed his skills, tamed his wildly ways, we would have a quality striker we are in so need of now.

McBurnie ok but how much do you suspect he would be over our budget? Because he's going to smash both transfer pot and wage policy since he is the player of a rival who came down from the Prem?
As for Madine to quote Roy Kinnear, 'you're off your bleeding head Wonka.'

well we are not going to sign one unfortunately, we had our chance all this summer to sign one and we end up signing freebies

You could almost say we’ll never get another chance like this year and that the Division will be far tougher next time around.

So if you are so confident then how much much you be willing to gamble?
It’s the easiest thing in the world gambling with other people’s money.

Remember McCabe was massively ambitious with his big ideaof appointing the dream team of Brian Robson and Brian Kidd. Those 2 could attract all the big names like Hugo Egiogue and Gary Cahill.
We really pushed the boat out that season paying out massibe wages but it didn’t end well.

More recently Sheff Wed were close to the promotion places and saw Jordan Rhodes as the final piece.
He was the top quality striker but wanted over £40K a week wages. They showed massive ambition by paying it.
That didn’t end well either.

History has loads of examples where clubs have gambled, bought that top striker and ended up regretting it.

Partially understand what you;re saying but suspect we’ll only sign a value for money striker around the 5 million mark. In today’s market a top quality tried and tested striker will cost over 10 million and want £40K a week minimum.

No he wouldn't , he would have recognised the deep original talent and done what loads of others couldn't be bothered to do and actually MANAGE the cunt !! So many excuse for managers today just take the Fukin easy route and offload a wayward individual, lazy shit man non - management in my view, I like to think Wilder might be better than this.

McBurnie scored 13 goals in 54 games for Bradford, Swansea, and Barnsley. Has potential, but nowhere near guaranteed success.

He's better than LC & so is GM, who'll be available to championship clubs on loan come January. If we are there or there abouts in January a decision has to be made. We'll need a striker who'll score at least 10 goals in 4 months.

All aboard the Sam Gallagher January bandwagon...
No he's shit and before you say it Hogan only works one way so he's a none starter too. I'm comfy with where United are, on another day we'd have wasted BC let's pick ourselves up and go for it in the next game with what we have nobody was calling for a top striker after Villa.

Luke Freeman instead of Woodburn would've done for me.

If we’d have bought Freeman and he was poor, then I bet you`d have been saying why didn’t we get Ben Woodburn.
Appreciate what you’re trying to say but it’s too early to judge Woodburn yet, he could end up being our star player.

I know a QPR fan and he says that Freeman is a luxury player and a bit of an individualist.
On his day he can be brilliant but he also has really poor games where he’s almost invisible. Some QPR fans now say they’d like to see Freeman sold to benefit the team. The view is that he has massive talent so they should get a good fee for him, then they could re-invest that money Buying more consistent reliable team players.

Well you'd lose your bet then, Mr Hypothetical.

Freeman would get more of the ball in our team. If he's available for a reasonable price I hope we go in for him.

Madine, apart from all the baggage, has 61 goals from over 300 appearances. 1 goal per 5 games, hardly 10 goals in 4 months form.

Taking a striker's entire career statistics and using that as the basis to judge him is extremely simplistic.

McBurnie for example was only ever a sub at Swansea before this season, and Bradford was ages ago.

Quality/reliability isn't the reason we wouldn't sign him, it's money. He's way beyond us.

Still far to easy to make that assessment, just my opinion. Only 3 teams in the league have scored more than us so far, with a few equalling us, so goals don't appear to be a problem. We also have 9 different goalscorers already, which is a very impressive stat.

Today we just didn't create enough clear cut chances, simple as that, and we have lost to another side who will push for the playoffs.

That being said I am happy to come back in another 10 games and eat humble pie if the goals have dried up.

Managing by Wikipedia stats is easy, I admit. But it does show that the names mentioned are a long way from being the finished article.
Exactly, I like to converse with original opinions as opposed to factual regurgitated stuff.
