Refunding Season Tickets?

I think they're already in the shit financially. From what I’ve read, I reckon all their over priced over paid players were funded by Doyen group. If so they have 3 years to repay the loans. Most clubs can sell players to make sure they meet the repayment schedule; but let’s face it, who is going to buy ANY of their players for anything other than prices significantly below what they paid for them? If they don’t get promoted, they wont have the revenue and at best, under FFP they’ll be knackered: at worst (for them) they could go into administration or bust.
Here's hoping.

And for the Northern Counties East results:- FC Sheffield Owls 0 - 3 Frickley Atheletic

The comparison between “shitty decrepit rust-bucket full of mentally retarded people mooching about.' and villa Park was stark. These 2 grounds used to be on a par for semi finals ,Villa park is decades ahead of that shithole now.
If the gents toilets the sty are as piss poor as Villas, then heaven help them.

It’s great to see the wheels coming off!

They’ve tried their best at pretending to be happy with the way their club is being run. Trying to justify paying ridiculous prices, having their kit changed from stripes whilst the chairman’s name is plastered everywhere.

He NOW threatens them that he may start to run the club as a business! How much will he put tickets and shirt prices up to if he now wants to make a profit!?

Phase 1 now complete with him pretty much telling the fans to fuck off if they’re not happy.

Phase 2 should see him cut his losses & sell up to some dodgy consortium leaving them in the shit financially.

He could even do a Cardiff and change the kit colour to red for good luck. Better still salmon pink or tuna coloured.

Can't recall ever seeing that on here,

Don't suppose you could find us a couple of examples?

You must not have read the numerous 'owners/investment' threads.
It's often stated that the owners should get something (financially) back for all they've put it in over the years...

Do people actually believe this shit? Happy chucking £4m a year at it for no return?

Take your point. But if you are looking for a healthy return on any investment (and you'll be lucky to get one) then the Premier League is where it's at.

It's a fairly common statement regarding the owners/investment/selling up threads.
Have a type in the search box, you'll find loads of similar statements.

The idea of the fan demanding cash back for their 'investment' in a football club is seen as ludicrous, but the idea of an owner demanding cash back for their investment in a football club is seen as normal...I guess, as with loans, it's all about scale.

Merry Christmas!

as many have said. this to me is bonkers because at point i have i ever thought i want my money back. nobody has a Devine right to any success because when you think out of 116 sides in top 5 divisions that start in August only 13 team will be happy come may. not great odds

He has spent a shed load of money on an under achieving team that is missing bottle and commitment. Obviously his ego is big because the sty and the club have his name plastered everywhere. Financially he squeezes every last drop of cash from those poor deluded pigs. When our ground had 3 sides and pigborough was used for the 1966 World Cup Finals we were looked upon as the poor neighbours. Not any more. It is a dump. Ours regularly gets voted as one of the best in the division. The fiasco re the shirts emblazoned with his name on them shows how little he values the fans. I think you may find many not renewing their season tickets and I’d love to hear if anyone takes advantage of this offer.

McCabe has his loans to the club with 10% interest - smart - ?

Here we go again with the old chestnuts.

Some of his (many) loans have had interest credited to his loan account but the club eats cash every year. As a consequence has hasn't taken a penny out of the club either as interest or repayment of his loans.

Shows the difference between the two clubs.

Well I don't know. One could argue that if the owner was so embarrassed at his club's offering to the fans he is saying 'this is so shit you've been ripped off (stifle laugh) here's some money back'.

I mean those of us 'old gits' who were part of the Don Givens 'journey to the end of time season' might have welcomed some dosh returned for taking us 'where no Sheffield United club had gone before - damn near oblivion'. Of course Saint Porterfield and Uncle Reg (care of a few dodgy practices at Tidge Jute) turned it around for us and the footballing resurrection began with luminaries such as Saint Scorealot, Saint Headalot and Saint Crossalot (Edwards, Hatton, Morris).

football is different.. in this game if you are unhappy with Ariel you do NOT go and buy Persil next time

New SUFC season ticket rules 2018-19 season.

Q5: Are you a former supporter of Sheffield Wednesday FC?

If you answered Yes you must report to the Bramall Lane ticket office at 0900 on Sunday June 10th for the start of your conversion of faith. You must not wear anything blue, including underwear and your induction will be carried out by Messrs Clarke, Geary and Quinn.

Bravado from Chansiri, nothing more.

He'd already sacked Carlos after the game.

It's trying to blame the fans for a decision he had to make.

Nixon reckons Chansiri's been pursuing Fonseca for a week.

It's all cobblers.

The Pig chairman can be accused of many things, however, he has put his money where his mouth is during his reign.

They couldn't even do that properly. look at the last time.

Reading the long, rambling statement from Dolphin Killer in which he's offering the grunters season ticket refunds brought up a question in my mind.

Can you really be counted as a supporter if you view your relationship to your club as a transactional one?

At no point during the Adkins season did I think "I want my money back" despite the mind-numbing, soul destroying shite I was witnessing on the pitch. It just didn't occur to me.

Purchasing a season ticket isn't some investment that rewards your money with on-field success. It's an expression of active support and at best a display of blind faith.
As a fan (especially one of Sheffield United) you willingly live this life with an acceptance that your efforts and your wishes won't be fulfilled.

This is why football -despite being referred to as a 'business' in the modern era- can never entirely run on business principles where fans are part of the equation.
If you receive a poor product for your money in any other situation, you move on to a better competitor. If you get a poor return on an investment you cut your losses. Football up until now doesn't work that way, not when you factor in emotional attachment.

Is the Pig owners offer a sign of a changing attitude from modern football fans or is it just a gesture aimed at placating the grunters?

Fuck Wednesday!

The difference between us? On their part, Its down to the deluded, arrogant types they attract who believe that success is guaranteed due to the massive size of the club - meanwhile back on planet Earth.....
