At a time when football, in some ways , is almost becoming a non-contact sport, we have refs who miss or ignore some truly bad challenges, or, if they see them, are not strong or confident enough to properly apply the laws of the game. Is it not high time that video match officials are available to assist in providing correct application of the rules ? Also, should not refs be assessed retrospectively by assessors who have seen re-runs of the games, now that they are all recorded ?

They are getting worse in my opinion yet you will see players get sent off for tugging someones shirt.

I know it is not easy but they have or should have more help getting the correct decision. Wasn't it the linesman who over turned a penalty at the lane against Brentford a few years back?

Refs are apparently already being assessed during matches (I think) but it does not seem to have made much of a difference.

Sat in the stand at Burton Tonight and thought Oliver Langford ,the man in Black tonight was an absolute Wanker. Missed so much as is the norm with United this season. Should have had 4 penalties. gave 1. missed Coutts leg breaker, an absolute blatant hand ball 2nd half and Duffy's mazey run brought to a halt, The Ginger linesman in front of us did no better. Seen referees doing the sunday leagues perform better than Oliver Langford Tonight. Absolute waste of space.

Some might think this is an exaggeration but luckily I don’t give a fuck, we should’ve had 5 possibly 6 penalties tonight and I don’t think I’ve ever said that. In the end I was just glad we got the one, shite referee yet again.

Carded for kicking a ball away in frustration...nothing for hanging out a leg with your leg locked out and the bottom of the foot aiming for the leg of Coutts!!!

Games gone fucking mental.

As it is, it looks like the kind of challenge that happens in football, someone trying to block the ball and being late. But that’s the point, it’s a late challenge, with his foot up and momentum moving towards Coutts leg resulting in a double leg break serious injury. How the fuck can that go unpunished? It’s clearly dangerous from the nature of the injury.
