Well, he never gave a pen, which some refs would have (softly, but any leg contact in the box can result in a penalty these days).

The rules have changed this season so if you want to fuck about and waste time, they add loads on. It’s really not hard, just don’t do it to the level we did.

Manage the game by clearing the ball and when there’s the opportunity to retain possession do that as well.

This is probably the most sensible response. The time added on rules really only protect big teams. Whoever wastes the time, it’s more time for the big boys to bring on yet another great player to change things back in their favour.
 
Will be watching Ref watch this morning and see what is discussed in regards to our game, bet the assault on wes isn't discussed
 
Ref Watch on Sky. You were correct chesblade- no mention of Fod's being elbowed. For those who don't know Ref Watch has Ex Ref. Dermot Gallagher trying to explain how,and why, certain decisions were made in the week end's games. The presenter introduces the games and asks Dermot to agree or disagree with the given decisions. Then asks Steve Warnock and Sue Smith if they agree with Dermot's explanation. There were 4 decisions reviewed in our game.
1-Bash's clash with the very annoying Maddison (My words). Dermot and Warnock and Smith all agreed the correct decision was given =No penalty.
2-Fod's handling the ball outside the area. Again all 3 agreed no red card but a yellow . Red could have been given had the Spurs player been in a position to score, which he was not= Correct decision.
3-Mcb's protesting to the ref about his shirt being pulled. This time Warnock and Smith seemed to say not a Red (2 yellows)but Dermot said correct decision. However, Dermot's decision was based on his assumption that Mcb's remark was "aggressive". He readily admitted he did not know what was said or how agressively it was said. To me that decision of Dermot's, therefore, holds no credence. Only the match ref can comment on that.
4-The 16 mins added on. This became a general discussion on what and why minutes are added on rather than in our specific game.
They then played Hecky's comments after the game but no discussion was entered into. Presumably as they ran out of time. About 5 mins discussion on our game and around 13 minutes on the Everton- Arsenal game.
Some of the more "interesting decisions" were ignored so to the outsider it sounded like there were only a few incidents.
Maybe others , who saw the Programme, can add to the above.
BTW- all the comments above are my understanding of what was said, not my opinion( except on Number 3).

Strange that no time is wasted by Premiership "stars"rolling round thumping the pitch as if mortally wounded and then running round after free kick given or opponent booked.
 
By the way, how did Everton only get 4 minutes added time against Arsenal yesterday?

... and that goalkeeping expert Shearer claimed that Wes could change his mind instantaneously and hit it long when it's obvious that from taking a short kick-out to taking a long one will take at least 10 seconds.

To adjust correctly Wes would have to possibly replace the ball, then take 8 steps back, then the players need to reposition, then Wes needs to make his decision and then kick the ball.

It's beyond farcical that a ref will tell a player that if he takes more than 10 seconds to do this, he will be sent off.

Unlike Maddinson that questioned every decision the ref made ,mind you he was joking with the ref as they came out for the second half ,really chummy .15 yellow cards and one red in a match that did not contain one nasty foul tells you every thing you need to know about the tosser with the whistle but I expected it in the prem the day we got promoted .The quality of refs are so poor so inconsistant to such a degree i do wonder if this league with all this money involved is corrupt .

No he ended up in the ref's space/ zone which is now a bookable offence
 
I see Kieth Hacket one off the best refs we have had in this country has come out to support our number 9 by saying he thought the ref at Spurs was a shocker and McBurnie should not have been booked .

Dermot Gallagher is a jumped up little prick and he’s never going to side against any referee.

His input is about as worthwhile as the ref they had at the World Cup on either ITV or BBC to tell us why every decision made by every ref ever is correct.
 

Why would anyone want to be a ref, non stop abuse from most people that don't know the rules. Now club officials in Turkey seriously assaulting the ref because they don't agree with his decision. Shameful.
