Don’t get me started on referees! From McNally through to Ellery and Rob Styles down to Kavanagh I must have seen em all. They’re all deaf and blind and never played any football. Not one has ever enhanced my enjoyment of a game of football. Mostly ruined it.

He let the game flow, which is usually good. However, he also set an early laissez-faire tone by not blowing for persistent holding on Bamford, whose marker (no 4?) had his arms around him and grabbing his short every time.

I don’t think Bamford is angelic in his treatment of defenders ! The main problem was that he was being bombarded by long balls from our back 5.
