If he'd got three hands I'm sure he'd have put that into his back as well for good measure. WTF was the ref doing here?
Agree, clear free kick. Linesman probably had a better view of the force behind the push.

Some of the other decisions are more debatable than many thinks.

Penalty, Stewart's touch takes him past Cooper. Although Cooper tries to pull out, he has been beaten and then getting in Stewart's path with him falling over, it can be argued this is a foul.

Ben Mee foul. He gets the ball, but the force behind the tackle, also bringing the player down, means maybe 40% of refs in England would give a free kick for this. In Norway, maybe 80%.

Peck disallowed goal, you can't wrestle with goalkeepers like that and expect refs to ignore it. I think 90% of refs seeing that would give a foul.

Wilder's red card.

Seemed a bit harsh, but only saw one angle. Strange situation.

I agree with your assessment….. feel we are making excuses for another home loss - although we probably did enough over 90 mins to deserve a draw…

However - having watched the full clip of what happened with Wilder - I think it was a ridiculous red card / overreaction from the ref. If Wilder gets a subsequent charge & ban he will have been very unlucky & sadly for him suffering from his past history from last season.

The issue that I have is that, in isolation you could make a point for these decisions. However when he ignores the holding for the 1st Saints goal, ignores a 2 handed push on Tanganga, does not give the Ogbene free kick, it is very hard to understand.

He is obviously incompetent and worst of all he clearly loves being the centre of attention. As some above has written, sending Wilder off was petty. Knill sums it up well by saying the game was too big for him.

RE =a 2 handed push on Tanganga in thei penalty area from a corner. I am glad someone else noticed it. It was two hand and shoved him off the pitch Yet another of tuesday nights mysteries

I just read that Wilder is appealing any touchline ban and he explains what happened. FWIW I fully agree with Wilder, he didn't lose the plot, go off at the ref or pick the ball up and smack it into the crowd. It was a nonchalant kick of the ball that got a bi of a flyer, he immediately apologised. He asks the question about appointments too, this is much more of an issue than his sending off for me.

There's been a lot of focus on the refereeing post match, also in this week's pre game presser.

It was a match between 24th and 19th in the second division; two teams with one win each in 7, and our performance was again pretty average.

Our focus should be on improving, not on feeling robbed or unfairly treated by the ref. Our focus should be on avoiding simple long punts becoming a one on one with the gk, not on the referee's verdict on the goalkeeper bringing their striker down. Our focus should be on creating more chances, not on the opposition wall for a late free kick.
