That ref was an absolute disgrace!

The number of times their 'players' lunged dangerously at our players deliberately following through on tackles was outrageous.

The ones on Sereki were bad enough and I honestly thought that the one on Tanganga would see him carried off it was so reckless.

Imagine if any of our players had done any of them (probably half a dozen or so) with the thousands of outraged squeeling piggies baying for red cards.

Outside the Premier League the Ref can only give what he or his assistants actually see.

VAR would have probably led to bookings etc for the Wednesday players involved.

But who wants VAR?

It’s not only a foul is bordering on a red card in my personal opinion at least a yellow and that’s not with tinted specs on. The Laws of the game on free kicks use the “traffic light system” careless = free kick only, reckless = yellow card plus free kick and use of excessive force red card plus free kick.

The Wednesday player has dived in with studs raised from a distance (not careless) l would say the run and jump is excessive

I said this in a thread a few years ago but I would like all professional games for referees to have some form of head cam, whether that is glasses with the camera attached or something attached to the head. So in incidents like this, the scrutiny can happen post match as needed. On this occasion, I can’t see how he didn’t see it but on some occasions we criticise the referee for missing something however our elevated view point in the stands without players blocking your view sometimes leads to the wrong opinion. Referees are human and just like footballers they don’t give a decision based on merit (mistake or not) but there could be a reason for it

Unfortunately I was in mid air during the match. I saw the highlights this morning. How the fuck is this NOT a penalty? HOW? If that's not a penalty there will NEVER be another penalty given. EVER. And it was right in front of the ref. Un Fucking believable.

On a side note. Grabbing ,holding, pushing, shirt pulling and wrestling happens at virtually EVERY corner these days. And NOTHING ever gets given. Why?

Basic functioning eyesight would have resulted into bookings for the pig players yesterday and possibly 2 penalties. The ref and his 2 buddies didn’t seem to be blessed with this.

The referee on Sunday was VERY poor. He missed so much and looked scared to make any kind of big decision.
The "penalty" claim on Tangana was a stonewall decision that he was looking straight at and gave nothing but decided it warranted players being spoken to?!?!?!
the lunge on Tanganga was a disgusting challenge and should have been a red card. To not even give the foul is laughable!
The only one he did get right (and i think it was by pure luck) was the handball penalty shout.
In real time i was shouting for a penalty. replays suggested that it hit him on the top of the shoulder so was really a borderline decision.
Luckily Tanganga didnt get injured and the poor decisions didnt cost us any points.

When I spoke to a Wednesday supporting mate last night he said the ref was poor for both sides. Something about Campbell pushing Iorfa in the back before the tackle where Iorfa got injured. Not sure what else he saw but he was moaning about us getting away with stuff.

Be interesting to see if he has a game this week or weekend (although interested, cant be bothered to check).

The Tanganga (foul by the sideline) one was a howler, but the penalty was worst for me as hes watching it and blows the whistle when the game is active, to stop the wrestling.

The balls in play, you cant just blow the whistle and say take it again.

Its a foul or not.

Clown (IMO).

He is an experienced EFL referee something like over 400 appearances. Not sure why he hasn’t made the step up, unless he isn’t fashionable enough/happy to be at the level he is at

I think both could have been red cards since they were last man, Campbell is through and doesn't need to go down:

Hamer is clearly getting pulled back here as well:

Luckily it had no bearing on the result.
There were a few other questionable decisions from him.

The Campbell one is really poor. Did he think that the defender cleanly got the ball through the back of him?
And in both those screenshots where is the ref?

At the halfway line pretty much.

Campbell is a pretty selfish striker, I'd be very surprised if this was a dive when he'd much rather score.

There was probably about 5 similar incidents in the first half where Stoke got away with blatant pushes. I like it when refs allow more of the physical stuff but this ref was a bit too lenient at times.

There was a number of fouls off the ball that the ref ignored.

We are sat in G Block South Stand edge of penalty area. Could clearly see the Campbell pull back. It was a clear foul, how the ref and Lino thought the defender got the ball from behind is unbelievable.

The linesmen in recent matches have been diabolical. The South Stand lino last week may as well have had a pompey shirt on.
