This is the modern world, get used to it, it’s going to happen maybe a few years but we will be taken over, it’s the small minded socialist attitude that makes Sheffield the biggest smallest city in the U.K., small minded backward attitude, if they’re willing or anyone to come in and invest for the benefit of both club and company and on the way play some exciting football against some of the best teams, isn’t that what it’s all about. You don’t see city complaining, and they have some of the most passionate down to earth fans in the country, you can be working class and have ambition.

I get what you are saying but I think regarding Red Bull they would rename the club. I wouldn't mind them being on our shirt as a sponsor and part owning the club but they tend to go all in with regards to football clubs which means renaming everything.

They said when they took over Salzburg: "this is a new club with no history". They tried to remove all history of the club going back to 1933 before being forced restore it on the clubs website.

It has little to do with the small minded socialist attitudes of Sheffielders. You forget Wednesday fans on the other hand will happily bend over for a few quid as they let Chancer plonk his name everywhere and create fake companies.

No football club whether its Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday or Wimbledon wants to lose its identity and history.

What if Red Bull changed their company name to Red Blades or Greasy Chip drink united would that be too corporate ? as we sit in our Chinese stand, watching the millionaires play .. or does once a blade always a blade not mean anything anymore.

Would something like this be accepted by the fans?

Not a fan of the corporate world but compared to some of the cranks that have bought clubs (Leeds, Cardiff, Hull) - Red Bull wouldn't be the worst.

Maybe McCabe should make the call??

I like it! We could make the "Red Bull" brand our own and become a global force. We could go to China for example, and buy up "Chengdu Red Bull" and call them "Chengdu Blades" instead. Anything with the word "Bull" in it would be fair game to us. We could own Istanbul and Kabul and Bulawayo. We could bring back the "Bullnose Morris" motor car. And we could own Nigel Adlkins because he speaks 100% pure Bull.
